For future Rise of Bangtan reactions you don’t need to block the music throughout the video. I’ve watched sooo many reactors reacting to this fan made series, all leaving the music in and no one has been blocked and no videos removed for leaving the music in. I promise you it will be fine. Thanks for reacting to this series! I learned so much from BTS from these videos alone.

While BTS do have rules they need to follow, this series really does highlight the difference between the other companies and BigHit at the time. While they did have freedom it is important to note that they used that "freedom" to hone their craft and became even more determined to make it to the top and be the best in every aspect of song, rap and performance. Mad respect to PDBang, the boys and their production team (many of whom are still with the boys today.) They worked Hard! Most important i think is their authenticity and dedication to exploring their art.

Hi, I think that you didn't notice that V is not in the live videos which members record about their daily vlogs... it is because V was the hidden member of BTS. He was revealed to the world on their duet day only until then BigHit kept him unannounced. The 7th member of BTS was a secret until their duet...

Remember to adjust for Korean Age. (They are using Korean ages in this series... international age is different)... In this episode (begininng 2013) they were in international age - Jin - 20 , Suga - 19, JHope - 18, RM - 18, Jimin - 17, V - 17, JK - 15 ..... I know you will love this series. Hope you have a wonderful day💜💜Also - dont forget to do the deleted scenes and bonus content for each chapter. Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In most older videos, including this guide, they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust. The members were only 13-18 years old when they joined BTS and 15-20 yo when they debuted. In Korea when you are born you are considered 1 year old. Then on lunar newyear every year you add another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. .... Year of birth - International age at Debut on 13June13 Jin 1992 - 20 yo Suga 1993- 20 yo Suga started with MIDI at 11 JHope 1994 - 19 yo JHope started dancing at 8 RM 1994 - 18 yo RM started rapping at 11 and was well known in the underground scene at 13 Jimin 1995 - 17 yo V 1995 - 17 yo JK 1997 - 15 yo he signed with big hit at 13 Rule of thumb - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age. The Korean Government has recently (June28 last year) brought in international age as the standard in Korea, but all older videos/ interviews/ shows, will be referencing Korean age.

I love watching their training. I was a competitive speed swimmer, diver and landed on a synchronized swim team in my early teens. I competed for four years. We trained three hours a day after school (coming home to do homework till bedtime) and swam seven hours on Saturdays. We were also the underdogs. We competed against teams with perfect bodies, big money for costumes and waterproof make up. They had professionally written routines. We were a mismatched team wearing home made costumes that looked simple by comparison. But like Bangtan, we wrote our own routines. We invented stunts, deck work and mixed our own music. We worked our asses off on levels of difficulty with kick ass music. In competition, in the locker rooms the opposing teams would laugh at us. It hurt, but…in the water…our precision and point difficulty blew them out of the water. We took first, second and third in every category and they were left with fourth and fifth places. What we were to each other, how we supported each other was tight and built lifelong friendships. Ninety percent of our fond memories were about training and what we built. (Or the mistakes that almost caused us to drown) Like the rapline, I’d write the most gorgeous routine and give it away to my members who I thought would do it best, writing to individual assets. No different than the boys writing to the vocal line’s individual strengths. So yeah, I get the sacrificial nature of training. It’s a love/ hate experience. But even if no one watched, it felt amazing when we did it well.

So glad you’re doing these. All those questions you always have, will be answered now. Neesa really did a great job putting this together The rise of Bangtan is 21 episodes plus deleted scenes and bonus scenes. It’s pretty Informative. BTS was formed around RM, he was a trainee from 2010. They debuted with him as the leader when he was still a minor, at 18, Suga 19, Jin 20, JHope 18, Jimin 17, V 17 and JK was 15. BTS were different from a lot of the hiphop/ Kpop ways; Bang PD told the boys that they needed to find their way and to write the songs that had their personal thoughts. You will find out why army is so protective of the boys. I’ve watched this series probably 20 times The 3 J’s are JHope, JK and Jimin

Most of these videos are still around on both weverse and bangtan tv on youtube. The music is easier to find previous to their debut and even after they put things out on Soundcloud as gifts to fans. Each of them has a Soundcloud presence and RM, Suga and J-Hope have albums for free on that platform. They worked hard previous to their debut because aside of one interview most of the promotions came from their videos on youtube. On the dancing for 8 hrs straight Bang PD would video the dance and stop it in one spot and if it wasn't perfect they would have to do it until it was.

True... Suga and Jimin said they review frame by frame and would even check that their eyeballs were all looking in the correct direction too... they went to that much tiny detail... they also make sure that their choreography looks good from every direction so no matter where you sit, it is visually spectacular.

Remember any age they give on these videos they are actually 2 years younger international age... dependingon the month of their birthdays. Koreans automatically age one year at birth and then every January add a year even if their birthday is latter in the years. Poor Taehyung was age 2 and Jin. Tae was born 12/30 and was considered 1 year old and then when January 1st rolled around he was 2 years old all in a matter of a day. So these guys are much younger. RM took on great responsibilities of 7 lives being successful. I think next year Korea/Asia will take on international age but will be hard for them to not reference their Korean age. All BTS members are younger than what they say but the wiki as the proper age listed by year and month. They were all in their teens, JK was like 13 going on 14... not 16. He was going through puberty so he was quiet alot listening to the guys... and you can see it. They had no time to really be boys but did the best they could... that's why JK was always wrestling with them... you know like normal boys.

JK was signed at 13 but 15 in the before debut clips. He was born in 1997 and signed a few months before his borthday in spring 2011. (Yoongi was signed in 2010) The age up is not on international New Year but the Lunar New Year - which is far more important in SK.

A lot of new Army say “I wish I had been there in the beginning” This series will put you there…much will blow your mind. Anything ever done or said to BTS is documented and can be proven. Don’t put a limit on yourself..about 3 versus 2 videos a day….do what feels comfortable and not demanding. I’ve seen people get burned out due to stress of putting out content and severe criticism. This is your channel..do it your way. Everyone’s journey into this rabbit hole is different and each time we go down the hole with a new reactor it’s like a new discovery and we enjoy the ride 💜💜💜💜

I love your reactions! You don’t need to block the music for copyright, this is literally a KZbin video made by a fan, and by the way I believe she is a CBS editor or a former CBS editor that’s why it’s so good.

Hi dear. 69yo ARMY here. Please react to a music video featuring V of BTS as an actor with a very moving performance. It's by Korea's "little sister" IU (pronounced eye you) called "Love Wins All". ARMY really loves it because our V is such a wonderful actor. IU is as well. And try increasing the transparency again to get around the copyright if you need to. That's fairly unobtrusive.

Seeing these old videos makes me sad that Taehyung had to hide because he was their secret weapon even though he got there before Jimin. I bet he felt left out. Even at fan meets, the girls would pass him to see the rest of BTS.

Jeez! You just made me do a lot of math! LOL January 7, 2013... We were gearing up for my 40th b-day (on the 20th). First born had JUST turned 17 (Jan. 3rd). The rest of my kids were 14, 11, 9, and 8. Then...just a few short months later...we found their very first MV. P.S. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think it's actually illegal at this point to watch anything like this (fan documentaries, actual documentaries, Run BTS, Bon Voyage, and any of their other shows) without eating. For most of us, it just can NOT be done. LOL The urge is too strong. That goes double if you have authentic Korean food near you. (Seriously, I just want to go to South Korea to do a food tour. Everything always looks SO good!!!) P.P.S. YES! There ARE certain companies - not all - that would/do abuse kids. That scream when showing the one girl? She was being FORCED into a pancake (sit on floor, legs spread, PUSHED DOWN until her stomach was touching the floor). Flexibility should happen NATURALLY...over time. Forcing it is a great way to injure muscles and tendons...then those were some of the first people to be sent home (when an injury occurred, that the company itself caused)! The diets are INSANE. Sometimes food is restricted. Okay, sure. When dieting, most do restrict certain things. Worst case? Some who have been cut have stepped forward to say they were flat-out DENIED food until they met their (often unreasonable) weight goals. As in, they had to continue going to school, taking classes at the studio, AND those long hours of dance...with nothing but water. Girls, especially, have it bad. Working so hard, and eating so little, many times they either never start their periods (younger girls joining a company between 10-13 years old) or their periods stop with older girls (14+) because they're so malnourished. Add in the fact that Koreans, as a whole, are generally healthier - and slimmer - than those in other countries. The obesity rate is very low there. It's just...sad, sometimes...what some of these companies put their trainees through. Again, this is NOT *every* company...at this point, it might not even be MANY companies (fans have rallied to try to stop companies from doing it)...but it has/does happen.

It is not unique to Korea or the Idol industry. It can happen to a lot of dancers/athlets - sometimes musicians when they are young or have bad contracts. Gymnasts and ballett dancers are for example infamous for it. If you haven't seen this yet: bby gang mag: "you are wrong about K-pop" and the following video essays

@@ruthfischer7615 1 - PLEASE point out exactly where I said it ONLY happened in Korea or K-Pop itself... 2 - I know. From age 3 until age 22, I was a "gym rat". Gymnast, not musclehead. That's EXACTLY the reason I stopped competing at age 6. The pressure to be more flexible - at any cost - was too much. I just wanted to have fun, not be forced into unnatural positions from tyrannical, abus*ve, coaches!

Can it be about fun? Absolultly. But some people want or even need to make this a career and than things change. I'm not excusing the fact that people were flat out abused. I'm just pointing out the context, too. 💜

It isn’t super clear to everyone I’ve seen react to this, but this first episode is a lot about how BTS /Big Hit did things differently from the rest of the K-pop “machine”. It was hella hard for them, too, but there was more humanity in it, I think.

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. So glad u started this series. Aneesa the creator of this docu series is an editor. It took her 4 yrs of research to create 20 plus chapters. Many army don't want this series to end. Aneesa has to do more research to tell the rest of BTS story. She sadly does not plan to do that no more. Aneesa is a full time editor at Disney now. She was a pro editor when she created this passion project of hers. I am glad u like her work. It took her 4 yrs to create 23 chapters. Sadly, she only published 21 of those. I hope she shares the others in the future if she can. I feel that in South Korea they are more organised there. Because of the industry many kids take the risk. Here many apply but it's really hard when no one is supporting u. The restaurant lady's place is famous to army. Army visit her place and it's filled with BTS merch and pics. She makes good food. She still proud of the guys. She always believed in them and she was right. Joon was in underground like Suga meaning they were in the rap underground. They were rapping and battling. Hard core stuff. Yeah, the other companies are too focused on perfection. It's messed up. A member of twice got into an accident and had to do rehab. She was placed on hormone pills and this made her gain a lot of weight. She got so bullied via social media it was terrible. Ppl are not kind. It's so sad and frustrating. Pang PD is such a progressive thinker. I adore him. RM learned Eng by watching the TV show Friends. RM adores Nas a USA rapper. He listens to a lot of Western rap. Jimin was the last member to join. He was with them 6-8 months. He was almost cut 8 times. Poor guy. RM, Suga, Jin and JK i think trained for 3 yrs. V trained for 2. Excited to hear your thoughts on ch.2. Also, Nesto pls watch until the end they show fun clips. And u have to watch the deleted scenes vid. =0] Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army💟 Zizi K. said on 6/23/21 Kpop is not a genre actually, it's an industry because groups can choose whatever genre they want. I know you can listen to like one or two songs from a singer or group and get the gist of their sound but with BTS, their discography is so varied that you need to listen to a variety of the music to get who they are. Rayna said on 1/29/22 The first thing to understand is, that "K-Pop" is not really just a genre, it's more a whole industry.. As SUGA (one of the BTS members) once said: "I’m a little careful to talk about K-pop as a genre, because I don’t want to be defining Kpop as a genre. I’m a little bit wary of that, but I think rather than approach Kpop as a genre, a better approach would be ‘integrated content.' K-pop includes not just the music, but the clothes, the makeup, the choreography…all these elements I think sort of amalgamate together in a visual and auditory content package, that I think sets it apart from other music or maybe other genres so again, as I said, rather than approach K-pop as it’s own genre I think approaching it as this integration of different content would be better.” BTS is more than just K-Pop. @aellerica6380 said on 7/19/23 A few comments. First off, when Jin said his parents weren’t around to take care of him he only meant that he was living with the members and not his parents. He was the baby in his family and then suddenly became the oldest of 7 Rise of Bangtan original channel had over 100k subscribers when it was pulled. The captions say this is an army edit, and yes Aneesa is army but the concept and execution and editing is all the work of one person, Aneesa. It was a project she actually started back in 2017 and aired the first episode on KZbin in January 2021. Each episode just gets better and better. There are also deleted scenes for episode 1 and 2 and then also bonus content starting episode 3 I’m super happy you were referred to this series because it is truly professional quality and Aneesa is a heck of a good story teller. I’m looking forward to the next part of your BTS journey 💜😃🇨🇦 @aellerica6380 said on 7/19/23 I found it. “But also, as Bangtan’s career continues to thrive, the more incomplete the series feels to me. I never expected it to reach so many people and, had I known it would grown so much, I might have added more explanation and clarity within the narrative. For these reasons I’ve decided that TRoB will no longer be available on this channel'. @tammarabg8174 said on 7/19/23 I am excited that you are doing this series. Aneesa put a lot of work into this project. She was a kpop fan before BTS debuted. She felt it was important to put in the history and talk about the big music companies training practices. She noticed BTS because they were different. Just a heads up on the ages. The members are giving you their Korean age. You need to subtract one or two years Most of the members were born September-December, so subtract two years. J-Hope and Suga were born in February and March respectively, so usually you can just subtract one year. Korean age is counted by years you have lived in, not by the sets of 365 days you have lived. V was born December 30 1995. That was the first year that he lived in, so he was one. Two days later, January 1st, 1996, that is the second year he lived in, so he was now two. When the boys debuted, Jin was 20 and JK was 15. @monicab968 said on 8/28/23 FYI, "auntie/aunt" is also an umbrella term that can reference any middle aged woman. So here, the restaurant owner is not their blood related aunt, but a middle aged woman who provides their meals. You will also see that after a certain age, you will respectfully be called grandma. @aishwaryaahirrao said on 8/28/23 This is a great series! Aneesa (the creator of The Rise of Bangtan) shared that she has been working on this series (her labor of love) for over 3 years! She is taking viewer on a journey step-by-step from BTS' perspective not looking back on their days but living through them (with them). She edits their content to allow BTS to speak their thoughts, through their experiences at the time because BTS has been documenting themselves since BEFORE their debut, so there is A LOT of material to edit down to tell their story! She also gives an overview of the KPop history for those who are not familiar with the industry. She uses clips from different video clips of other idols/ journalists interviews to try to give a broader perspective of the industry. Her skill as a professional video editor really shines through. Amazing work! I think many ARMY really like this series (besides it being extremely well made), she doesn't try to interpret what "she thinks" BTS is trying to say, she just shows the viewers exactly what they said and shared about what their thoughts were at the time. She is an "OG" KPop fan and BTS fan since pre-debut! She also shared that BTS has been the light in her darkness for many years now. (Cr: "FY" on yt) I think it's important to notice the differences between BTS' worries and the other trainees worries. BTS' were worried about their own personal skills (not dancing well enough, song worries, etc), about not getting attention when they debut due to their small company, not having money, etc. While the other trainees seem to be living in fear of being cut from the company at any moment if they make one mistake, worrying about weight quotas, etc. BTS stayed until late hours because they WANTED to, while the other trainees HAD to. Obviously BTS had things they had to do too, they could've not made it to debut as Jimin almost did due to short training, but instead of using that as a fear to hold over them Bighit seemed to use it to encourage them to work harder and improve themselves. BTS were allowed to make mistakes without worrying they'd be thrown out of the company. I'm very glad that they all signed with Bighit, and that Bighit has caused a shift in the Kpop industry, lots of newer companies are giving their groups more freedom and treating them better due to BTS' success. These companies see that idols don't need to be punished and forced to do things in order to succeed, BTS are proof that freedom and happiness should be the most important thing. (Cr: "Shannon" on yt) Now plz understand this 1st & 2nd episode shows two sides, one is typical k-pop system and how the labels/industry work, whereas subtle hints of BTS and bighit being contradictory different is shown, BTS is different from other K-pop groups and BigHit is different from other idol music companies. These first few episodes can be misleading because it makes you think BTS management follows these guidelines the other idol members from other companies are talking about, but BTS and BigHit don't do those things. Notice how when it is said idols don't have a lot of creative freedom, you see Namjoon and Yoongi writing lyrics, or when it says idols have phone bans or something, you see the BTS members on their phones, or how when idols say they aren't allowed to go outside the dorm, you see Yoongi walking around freely. It can be a confusing thing for new ARMY to make note of, but PLEASE notice these differences. It is vital to how BigHit runs differently, and therefore why BTS is so different from other idol groups from the very start. (Cr: "Kayla Kulik" on yt)
