Some recommandations for Paris are - Aki Boulangerie, in the 1st arrondissment (they have great mochis etc) - Kadoya Ramen, right next to Aki (would recommend the spicy chicken Ramen and katsu curry!) Generally the streets around those two places are cool. For shopping Starcow is good and most Vintage shops in the Marais and by Republique. Enjoy Paris :)

Hahaha I said the same thing as your dad when I first had Mangos here. Turns out they reduced the acidity and aroma of the mango to suit the Japanese palate. BTW those boxed ones are $30-$40 a pop here too, but I usually get them at a local supermarket for more like $10. HMU if you're ever out in Tokyo, happy to share my list of places to eat.

Mangoes with green skin are the sweetest, in the world, with Panduri mangoes having a brix value between 24 to 26, then you have Chaunsa, Carabao, Alphonso, Benison which are yellow/ golden skin with a brix value between 19 to 22 and then comes the red shade varities like Miyazaki or Irwin only has a brix value of 15 to 18. The only reason Miyazaki mangoes are so expensive is because, Japan does not have a weather suitable to cultivate mangoes, so they are grown in weather controlled geothermal polyhouses and their cultivation is heavily subsidised by their govt. Among the grown mangoes only a few are selected and sent for auction. The criterias are it has to be above 350 grams, a min brix value of 15%, has to be shaped like a dragon egg and needs to ruby red in color, so it can gain the title of "Taiyo-no-Tamago" or "Egg of the Sun". Mr. Lee seems to have an extremely well built palate. I'm a very big fan of his. If you want to enjoy sweet n delicious but cheap mangoes with exotic flavours just have a good quality alphonso mango. It'll hit all the right notes. Thank you.

@@dominicijavier1575 Way to be obtuse. Most fruits are green at some point. He's obviously talking about ripe mangoes, and Panduri and Panduvari mangoes indeed have the highest Brix value while being green.

Mewt is literally what I envisioned when I was a kid. Loved the idea of being a designer for clothes and loved pokemon. But that dream quickly died at a young age. I'm so happy to see a dream I once had being a reality. Keep it up bro. Mew is definitely the best mascot for a designer-esk clothing line. I am curious on how you're able to put pokemon on your brand and not get copyright tho.

In Paris I recommend Le Cafe Laperouse Concorde, it’s an upscale place that was recommended to us by Parisians. On the same street, there’s an cookie ice cream truck outside Rosewood/ Hotel De Crillon. They just did the Thom Browne fashion show there too. Also, for some cheaper but beautiful cuisine with charm go to Malibu. Lastly coco paris which is another upscale restaurant. Enjoy!

Lol to answer Levi’s question yes it’s kinda corny to number your kids in their names in Chinese. I think it might have been a more common practice in the (quite distant) past, which is what makes it funny. And I say distant past because I’m not even sure if it was common during Susur’s time to name kids that way.

I have lived and worked in Japanese fruit and vegetable store . I have sold many of Japanese “gift” fruits. If you know how the mangos are grown and cultivated, you will have a better understanding of why it can cost so much . (Same goes for the melons, and peaches) Single fruit per vine , so it receives all the nutrients and sweetness all by itself . Mangoes always boxed in pairs or 3s because of the superiority of how it’s grown to have them looking close to identical in shape and size. You discard so many fruit from one tree to have focus on the select best . And then a whole nurturing process to every branch to keep the one fruit healthy until picking . They have turned this into a whole art form . All through typhoon season and limited farming space . Not mass produced like FL and Mexico and Brazil . It nice that you bought it for your dad …. And then ate it yourself 😂 that’s exactly how I do my mum with Asian stuff .
