You need to see the holding of the mutual funds before investing to analyse the kind of risk they carry... Even for debt mutual funds... If you are not well versed with portfolio risks it is better to invest via wealth advisors...

The problem is until now debt Mutual Funds were marketed by the wealth Advisors as extremely safe .and probably they also did not know that a triple A rated company will become a default in one year. The issue is the lack of transparency and the dishonesty in the financial world. We are getting better but it is just ironical for the marketing of mutual funds to be done within a week of one of the most damaging events in mutual funds is free and there is no reference to it. Even in 2018 June, DHFL in a debt fund portfolio would not have raised eyebrows and in September 2018, it became a big problem
