Sundeep Sharma Stand-up -Father Knows Better

This video is my tribute to my late father Shri Hariom Sharma, an honest and upright farmer who sold tea outside his school to pay for his school fee and went on to pursue post graduation and got himself a law degree. Later he worked in the city of Bareilly and pursued transport and molasses business. Not every tea seller becomes the PM but for me he was and will always be the example of everything that was and is good in this world. I am a comedian and this is my medium of expression which I have used to remember some of the incidents, some funny, some emotional.

Incase you think that only I have made you cry, you are wrong, so many emotional messages and personal stories that you guys have shared have really made me very very emotional and I have had proper tears rolling down my cheeks while reading them, yes I held back my tears on stage and I almost did not upload this video because I thought it was too personal, and that why should I bother the audience with my emotions when they have come to laugh, but here we are ...I wanted to give a proper farewell to my father through my work, once we comedians upload some bit online, we do not perform it on stage, we write new content , I was not sure if this video will resonate with people but I wanted to do it for myself, I have not asked anyone to subscribe or follow me on any social media in this video as this was not to sell anything...this was personal, a heart to heart conversation, I am glad that it connected and so many of you shared your personal stories too...Thank you from the bottom of my heart

I saw this when this first came out and while I loved the message, it wasn't something that made me sit back in thought. I had forgotten about this until today. Lost papa a bit ago and it made me bawl my eyes out. The last part couldn't be more true. We might think we understand fathers, but we never do until they're no longer with us. I was in delhi somedays back , totally pissed off at him because i had a outing plan with my friends but he didn't allow ..i said "you have always restricted us from everything never allowed us for a trip.. never took us even for family trip leave alone frdz and what not" by night he came to me with plan which i agreed as he suggested he would drop me at my frdz place and from there on i can go for sarojani (i m staying in Bangalore,this was my first tym in delhi,) next day i got late ,he started calling me by 5pm ,but by that time i wasnt done ,so he told me i am waiting near aerocity metro whenever you wish to come back i would be waiting here...i didn't took him srs and told half and hour i would come back,...it wasnt intentional i just told him...afte that he didn't call me ...i came back by 10 o clock and found him sitting there..he didn't shouted at me for making him wait so long neither he called cont. For reminding me that he is still waiting....he started walking forward and asked "to kaha kaha ghuma aaj? Accha laga"....i started crying without letting him know. ..this is my first social confession..love ur parents at any cost ..thank you everyone for understanding my grammatically wrong comment

My father was really my protective shield. I work in Kuwait and my dad took care of my family back in India. Life was so relaxed when he was there because he managed everything. And suddenly one day he died due to heart attack. And I lost my shade over me. Even though I have 3 kids, I still felt like a child myself when dad was around.
