I used to be upset with my father for moving on from my mom's passing so quickly, until I looked at his journal.
My mom passed away 2 years ago at the age of 50 due to cancer. My dad didn't even shed tears at her funeral.
He never brought her up again after the burial, which made me so mad that I started keeping my distance from him.
It was challenging for me because we used to be close until my mom passed away, and now we hardly communicate.
My dad moved forward, kept all memories of my mom in his room, and never entered that room again.
He sleeps in the guest room and always gets upset when my brother or I try to discuss mom.
Last week, my dad fell ill and had to stay in the hospital.
My brother asked me to bring some clothes to the hospital for him, so I did. It was the first time I entered the guest room since my mom's passing.
I was surprised to see his diary on the nightstand. I got curious, so I opened it and read it.
I couldn't imagine what my dad was hiding. While I don't want to reveal everything, I can't handle this alone, so here are some of the things I discovered...

Everyone handles death of a loved one differently. Some cry all the time even turn to booze to hide the hurt they're feeling some don't shed a tear. You thought your dad had moved on because of his actions but he is missing your mom just as much as you do maybe even more so. Never judge anyone because you don't know what is going on in their head. One sign for me to know he wasn't coping is the fact he didn't like talking about her and didn't want to hear you and your brother talking about her. Your dad sounds like those men who have been brought up to not show any emotion even when they are hurting inside. He has a Shrine for your mom that no one knew about. He is/was in hospital most likely due to the stress he's been going through. As a daughter you should have been there for him regardless of your feelings. It's not too late to make it up to him. You've got one parent left now spoil him and be there for him. He needs his family around him because he's grieving for his wife that he spent probably the majority of his life with. Give him time but make sure you are there for him. He needs you. R.I.P to your mom 🙏🏼

Ever stop to consider it is too painful for him to think about your mother, never anyone’s right to judge how someone else grieves even your father. I didn’t watch full video because I was so disgusted with you. Get back together with him and ask his forgiveness, he may be suffering in silence.

Shame on you. How dare u judge him about how he deals with the loss. And my father (or mother) would have chopped my hands off for reading a diary. Pfui
