A lot of things he picks up first listen thru, like drums, percussions, the mix downs on vocals, is very good 'active listening'. Hes picking up on all the things, I as a producer, listen for when making music. He knows how tricky it is to get things right, and it make so much more sense now why he has a new found appreciation for kid cudi and kanye, when it comes to how vocals sound and the mixing of cudi's vocals in particular. I hope you appreciate these times together and that one day they will be great memories for you and perhaps your son or daughter. PS: I bet artists who watch these would love to see people react to the album from start to finish but labels gotta claim them. I argue it's fair use with people talking over the tracks it's not replacing the market for the original product or negatively affecting the sales of the album. If anything it's like promotion. People play video games entirely through and promote them and I hope in the future there is some way that music and reaction channels can react to entire albums without having to make edits outside of the one's they wants to make.

I was playing Rocket League with my friend when KSG came out. He isn’t a huge hip-hop fan and isn’t familiar with Cudi, but a couple of minutes into Reborn he put his controller down and said “wow this guy has overcome a lot”. I said “yeah it’s Kid Cudi”, but then it hit me just how profound Cudi is as an artist. The song had kind of faded into the background for me as just another Cudi song about personal struggle and triumph. But it fully captured my friend who had no connection to his music before that moment, and took him to another zone where he had to fully stop what he was doing and gather his thoughts

Your dad's excitement over some of these Cudi and Kanye tracks got me real inspired by them again. They are truly up there as two of the most creative musicians of our time.

These videos are so good, not a single one has disappointed so far. There's just so much joy to be had in watching an open minded person discover new music through somebody close to them, and the live listening experience brings that to a whole new level. Please don't stop! I'd love to see reactions to Mac Miller's Swimming or Circles, Flower Boy/IGOR, Yeezus, Ye, Good kid maad city, or Kanye's first two albums!

What about "Awaken My Love!" by Childish Gambino? Incredible instrumentation and extremely moody. Random Access Memories by Daft Punk is also one of the finest recorded and produced records of all time. Since he's into production I think he'd appreciate that
