Higher was purposely made in short length and Rihanna purposely recorded it drunk to give you that raw sound of a drunk voicemail at 3AM type of feel. Great record ❤

About Higher, she's actually drunk in the song, I dont recall if its a freestyle but it was definitely a one take wonder and she was drunk on whiskey at the time of recording and that's what came out, truly incredible

But what’s great about this channel is I know y’all may eventually get around to those artists and he’ll learn that those are the singles. but on the albums …. these ladies are singing/rapping about their anxiety/insecurities, childhood trauma, abortions, dreams and aspirations, loss of loved ones etc. there’s always more beneath the surface 🥰

FUN FACT: Consideration was originally written and already recorded by SZA but Rihanna invited SZA to a song writing camp and sza didn't have any new music to come up with so she performed consideration in order to impress Pharrel Williams and Rihanna and Rihanna asked for it to be on this Album and also SZA said Ctrl would've been released in 2016 if she had kept consideration

Rihanna was on Def Jam and Roc-A-Fella Records from the beginning. Jay Z and Dame Dash both co-owed Roc-A-Fella but decided to go their separate ways and got rid out the company. Jay Z then became President of Def Jam and Rihanna was soley on Def Jam for a few years. Jay Z then created Roc Nation and Rihanna joined Roc Nation as well. Rihanna literally doesn't have a bad album! All of her albums are 🔥!
