I got an appreciation for that guy.First noticed him when i got hooked on his "I feel it coming" single some years back.Liked his "musicality" and his sense of loving good melodies.I then got hooked on his "Blinding lights" smash when he paid homage to my decade,since i'm a late '70s/'80s brought up kid and realised that he really differs from many other artists of today.But really got blown away when i heard that duet with Ariana Grande" Save your tears"!That one made me shiver to the bone!Also the backround instrumentation to this instantly rang a bell.Twas reminiscent of 1982 Euro smash "WORDS" by F.R.DAVID.I also can relate even more to him possibly because of his cooperation with wizzard hit maker Max Martin from Abba's land Sweden which i'm also a fan.I do keep an eye on TW and his work each now and then.He doesn't bore me and keeps my interest awake.

The Weeknd somehow just gets the 80’s synth-pop vibe & has transformed it into even better music for todays modern ear! Just fabulous, super talented artist! 😎🤘🏻

@@reactionextraction Well personally,i wouldnt say even better (than the '80s)if you meant that, cause i wouldn't dare to touch that much whatever time has proved to be classic.'Ild rather say "more synchronized" maybe, for the ears of today's music listeners.I like this policy of combining "now and then" cause it brings closer the generations and music should work as a uniting bond and as not a dividing"law".In the late '80s i've worked for a while for the music press with my cousin in a non English speaking European country.I remember that period that things had "settled down" a bit and each music gen wasn't that "hostile" towards the other as it was in the '70s/early '80s music"battlefield",which even though was excpectable and justistified in a way it wasn't healthy.Same way i feel now.I'm impressed that youngsters do search to what stuff we were listening to back then and aprove of it by giving thumps up to our past music legacy.Some even get so fascinated that even like it better than what they hear today.Just take a look at a mass of young reactors doing retro stuff.And even though not everything we bought and listened to was always that great ,they somehow seem to appreciate it even more than we did back then.And of course i'm not refering to some minority that pretend to like it.Many of us can distinguish a fake reaction to an honest one.l also take into consideration the big amount of positive comments below by younger ones that respond with enthusiasm and nostalgc mood.And I like that and feel so grateful to them for their respect and also humbled.Thanks for responding btw p.s .Please excuse my English not being perfect cause It's not my native language lol!

Yeah that guy's different".Blinding lights" also gave me some '80s"Miami Vice" vibes as well.Also Save your tears is so Euro-Scandi beautiful."Words" influenced "musical carpet" is also clear on ti.LoVE it too.

I’ve grown up with a lot of 80s music, and I’m such a big fan of those iconic British bands, and I’m also a big Weeknd fan. The way he committed to that 80s sound on this album was so pleasurable. I don’t know how to word it, but he doesn’t sound like he’s trying to sound ‘like’ the 80s... it just sounds authentic, he’s picked up on so many nuances that made that sound what it was. I imagine this song will be an amazing experience live, It feels like an anthem. As a side note, retro dad might enjoy the band ‘Walt disco’ or atleast appreciate how authentic to the 80s they sound. ''Dawn FM'' was a incredible concept album. The album was a different concept to ''After Hours'' who this last was very dark and personal. In This, this was a concept with a storyline of the death and it's like a horror movie then you hear, but lyrically. Also , musically, it's was so much a non-stop album and all enchained with fluidity. It's continued this 80's sound of ''After Hours'' but was more varied to ''After Hours''. It's my second favorite album of this artist (the first was ''After Hours''). Weeknd have many ballads at this genre like ''Earned It'', ''Scared to Live'', ''Until I Bleed Out'' or ''Dark Times''.

The Weekend is one of the few music artists from the 2000s I like and I think its because a lot of his songs sound like 80s music to me.

Coming back to all these reactions after watching The Weeknd's latest Until Dawn tour in Manchester. I can easily say this was the best moment of the night. The lights, the track, lyrics, the whole stadium was lit up and it was pure Euphoria. Felt like a dream!

I always listen to the other songs The Weeknd doesn't put out as radio singles. This one is probably my favorite on Dawn FM yet most people don't know this song exists. Same thing for Scared To Live that was on After Hours, great song but underrated.

I noticed Ty only shows emotion for his music, dad is so vibrant in all the videos. It seems as if Ty's musical growth is stunted unless its what he likes. Its a shame really. Ty please actually give music outside your box a chance.
