Remember folks, Nile Roger’s wrote this song. That guitar solo is there for a reason. The song Like A Virgin was the last time the men of Chic ever recorded on together because all drums on this particular track are synth.

You can't place "normal" on John. When you think you've put him in a category he does something totally different & you say "No,wait.....what ? No way.......but that's just so good". Johns' fans just shrug & smile & say "Yeah, that's Farnsey........that's just John doing what he does". At a concert the fans don't expect a great show, that's already a given. Both John & his fans are there for another good night & that is exactly why John is so loved in Australia. Everyone goes home happy......every single time.

stupid fackers , fake reaction. Dave knew, cause he insisted on that. Martin once said, every year we sell same number of albums, we had to change something. That is how 1990, 1993 album came, not because Alan.

This is the single version. The album version is much different and not as good imo. I bought their second single Electricity when it came out and have been a fan ever since.

You haveeee to react to the live NRK version of this song! It’s my favorite live performance from them and I think even better than the studio! I also recommend the album version because the MV cuts off the post-chorus (the “HOW CAN YOU SAY” part) which I think is the greatest part of the song besides the switch from the verse to chorus 😢

I'm 44 and grew up with TFF in the 80's as a kid, they have an amazing back catalogue! I have their greatest hits on my playlist, and this track is SO addictive that chord progression in the beginning is SO GOOD!☺️😊

As usual the studio version is better. There’s a reason that artist spend a lot of money and time to go into a studio and work with professional people and equipment to record their songs. The finished product is better than live.

THE DIFFERENCE IS....Cher can have fun with auto-tune and even ADD to the song by using it. And it doesn't detract from the song or her vocal abilities because SHE HAS AN INCREDIBLE VOICE. People who use it and DON'T have vocal talent are the ones who give it kind of a bad name.

Japan began as a more conventional rock band band, but very quickly adopted a synth based style. With flavours of Bowie or Roxy Music particularly the vocal style of David Sylvian owes a lot to those artists. By the time of this, Japan's final album, they were creating their own unique sounds, with Mick Karn's fretless bass being prominent, and David Sylvian's brother's unconventional use of drums and percussion which stepped away from the way a standard kit would be used. Sylvian felt 'Ghosts' to be a breakthrough track for him, and showed a path to his solo career. His solo albums I am sure you would love even more than this track, he has become a true artist with a catalogue of stunningly beautiful songs, and experimental collaborations, all with style and increasingly little concern for commercialism. The nearest comparison I could make is with Scott Walker's career, beginning as pop star pin-ups but who then rejected musical convention and pushed further and further into their own intimately unique cerebral journeys, with leanings into avant-garde, jazz and ambient influences.

I went to a christmas party in that rooftop club a few years back. There is a lot going on in there songs and they were using some of the most groundbreaking techniques in the studio. I wonder if they never toured and played live because it would be too hard to reproduce
