I am a firm believer that if things don't work out between adults, by all means, I'd rather you split and be happy then stay in a loveless marriage in which your only goal is to put the other down, fight, or be miserable because you aren't happy. Having said that, I feel it is completely unfair and wrong to drag your children through your own drama. They have a right to know one another, different fathers or not. I don't think that's the parents call to make especially at this young age just to satisfy their own needs to continue on with a feud that needs to be squashed. Your divorced, and in that sense, they should be moving on with their lives rather then doing interviews about what he said, he said. Its over. Done, and if you truly have forgiven him for the divorce, then that should be it. However, there are a ton of people in this country that HATE each others guts, but still manage to co-parent and be civil in front of their kids, and gay or not, makes no difference in that issue. If you have to send a court appointed liaison to bring the child over to his house or vice versa, then you do that because you get over yourselves for five minutes and realize the children weren't in the relationship, they didn't break you up, and none of this is or should be there fault. The only reason I could see for them not making all efforts to do this is their own selfishness.

This is kind of sad. Divorce is already so sad but the decision to split up the twins is heartbreaking. I do hope they can work something out where they can both visit the children and the children can know that they are siblings.

Unusual but t don’t see a problem with it. It’s same as step kids. If each had a child and got married, and then split up, each would move on with their respective child. It’s no different. The problem, as usual in most divorces, is making sure to stay friendly so the kids will know each other growing up.

There's never an easy solution when a family splits.. This is no different. The best case scenario is always that the parents stay civil and maintain contact with both kids. Regardless of the semantics of who lives with whom.

Kids shouldn't be split apart even if they don't even know each other. They could give each other the love that they need. But It's better than having kids split apart after growing up with each other. 😔

Better than King Solomon's idea of cutting them in half. It makes sense that they are biologically part of each dad. It is sad when any couple breaks up and there are children involved, but like in all divorces, there are visitation rights and the "twins" who aren't quite twins, should be able to grow up together even if not under the same roof. This is only complicated because of surrogacy, but the process has helped many couples wanting kids... and their bio kids at that. I still say, adoption is also a wonderful gift if everyone is matched well.

I wonder what rights or claim Ryan has over the wee girl when he has no biological connection to her nor raised her for any length of time. So despite his feelings, he is not her father. The twins are half brother And sister as they share the same (unknown) mother but different fathers. I am a twin my self so at first was shocked you would seperate twins it seems cruel but this situation is different. I think it was the right decision and legally makes the most sense considering there are no winners in divorce especially when kids are involved. Im sure these two will sort it out though I just hope Ryan stops playing the victim card. Also slightly disturbed Ryan plans on telling his son “everything” regarding his and David’s actions during their marriage or divorce, kids should not be told that kind of stuff. Plus the only negative info he could find on google was given my Ryan himself.
