Hey Colaz & gang. Glad to see you enjoying the Callaloo soup in st. Vincent. I’m a Jamaican from st. Catherine & we used to make the same callaloo soup in Big Walk St Catherine back in the day in the 60s. We called it callaloo soup as well. We used the dasheen or coco leaf heart or stalk before it open into a leaf. Every Saturday our mother made callaloo soup with beef or pigtail and ground provisions coconut milk, etc. It was never made with our Callaloo it was the heart of the coco or dasheen leaf but called callaloo soup. We should go back to those days and bring it back to JA like the Vincentians do it. Plus it’s healthy.
