This was really inspiring to me. I've taken a lot of crap over the years for my musical tastes. I was in middle school when grunge and gangsta rap was coming up, yet I was a huge fan of Hans Zimmer and Yanni. I even had a phase where I was a fan of Garth Brooks. In high school I started listening to more metal, and now my iPod is just full of random stuff. Traditional Japanese instrumentals to BabyMetal to Hans Zimmer to Behemoth, I've never been able to only listen to one style of music, or styles that have some sort of relationship with each other outside of being music. To know that someone like Devin Townsend has some odd and unrelated musical influences is inspirational to me. Now if I could only sing like him!
