My grandparents had a lovebird and a budgie. And they knew exactly when it was 8 pm in the evening. They would always get a piece of fruit then. Even when asleep they would wake up and start making a noise till they got their piece of apple.

My dad had a cockatiel that did almost the same thing. Before he retired, my dad used to come home every day at 5pm. And every day at 4:45, his cockatiel would start running back and forth, screaming and whistling, and when my dad would open the door - he'd get so excited! I miss that bird with all my heart. This warmed me up, thank you

When I was a child we had a Siamese cat named Molly. Every day when my mother got home from work, Molly would howl on and on, and it sounded just like she was telling on our housekeeper/nanny. Mother would say the same things this man was saying. We kids would laugh hysterically every single day. Such a nice memory.

They get incredibly bonded with their flock. That's why its heartbreaking when they end up in rescues because they are very demanding of your time. Cockatoos especially are very clingy birds. They are known as Velcro birds.

That's the first time ever I've seen a cockatoo, any type, fly at least that much only. They usually jump and run. Wow so beautiful when it runs. And flies again at the end, very cool.

Actually, this species is from Indonesia and is on the borderline of being on the endangered list because of man's encroachment of the land. Make sure all animals you buy are captive bred by responsible breeders.

So sweet. My cockatiels and sun conure all greet me when I come home. My sun is usually so excited she hangs by one toe from the top bar on the inside of her cage and starts telling about her day. She drowns out what my two cockatiels are trying to say. Everyone calms down for dinner and playtime outside their cages and as soon as it gets dark they all put themselves to bed. Its so cute. They all scamper from the couch to their cages and head to their sleeping perches and don't hear a peep out of them the rest of the evening.

This is beautiful. I love the conversation you have and how it really includes him, not just as a pet but as a member of the family. Even when your being 'told on' you never once sound upset, even in a joking tone. He's listening to you talk and is contributing to the conversation and is being listened to. It looks like he's picking words from mom and dad and hes trying to speak.

alpan I think cruel to keep them captive in cages. Is cruel. I didn’t even like how that professor kept Alex the grey parrot. He was a clever parrot. But in so many ways a prisoner. Made to do tests over and over so that professor could prove something ! Then one day he died. Isn’t it better to study them in their own environment or in their own habitat

jessie james humans and animals have being together since early caveman as companions not slaves. Pets can leave their owners but due to giving so much love as their kids it’s fine but mistreating animals is in humane. So I can go on and on about this debate I can even write a book if I wanted to. I love my parents cats I treat them like family if I had a parrot I treat it with love and kindness like if it was my child

A man buys a parrot but the only thing it does is insult the man... After spending hours trying every possible solution to get it to shut up the man decides to put the parrot in the freezer. A few minutes pass and the parrot falls silent. Thinking he might of killed it the man opens the freezer and finds the parrot shivering but alive. “S-s-sorry for i-i-i-insulting you s-sir. I p-p-promise I’ll s-s-stop”. The man takes the the parrot out of the freezer and after a few minutes the parrot shyly says “i-if you don’t mind m-me asking... w-what did the t-t-turkey do?”

That bird loves that man so much. He must spoil that bird all day.Its people like this that show so much love to animals and are role models for society. You don’t have to know anything about this couple,the birds reaction to them just says they are great souls.
