Taking the driving seat of a East Midlands trains class 158 Sprinter, we drive the train between Leicester, Derby and Nottingham on the Midland Mainline.

One thing that’s almost unanimous amongst other colleagues, is that the 69 isn’t a well liked engine. I’m lucky in that I don’t cop for them all that often. The 56 on which they’re based is actually a quieter ride.

The sun and moon are accurately simulated for the year 2024 (Phases and positions). There will be the eclipse but I doubt there will be changes in the light level. Quite awesome nonetheless!

For a change, next stream (or the one after) why not take out your Class 52 for a spin? It just sits there unused; and you would enjoy the best cab view there is, and getting the feel of a mainline loco with hydraulic transmission -- which could be interesting.

@@DadRail Paddington to anywhere (e.g. Bristol TM) Years ago, I'd frequently go to Paddington in the evenings and watch the TPO until it departed at 2230. It would often have a 52 for traction, back in those days.
