Agust D was an underground rapper before he became part of BTS. He's been writing lyrics since he was 13 and also learned MIDI at the same age. He first fell in love with producing songs and rapping came later on when he was on 6th Grade. He has two self-produced mixtapes; Agust D (2016) and D-2 (2020). He mainly talks about mental health struggles, dreams, youth, failures, growing up and social issues. He produce songs for BTS and other artists too. He has many collabs even with western artists such as Halsey and Max.

@@versuful As Agust D, he gets to express himself freely, things that he couldn't do as BTS Suga. I also personally think that Yoongi chose to have Agust D, another persona, so that people would get to know the person that he is, not the side of him as an idol.

@@versuful As Suga of BTS, he can't always make the music that he wants. For instance, BTS follows a concept. There are times where Yoongi will make songs for BTS but it won't get accepted because it didn't fit the concept. Also, as Suga of BTS, he has to write lyrics that should fit the time that he was given. He had to consider how long his verse would be and he had to write his verse in a way that that message would be conveyed the best in a short duration of time. As Agust D, he gets to express himself fully. He gets to say all the things he wants to say because it is his own song, his music of his own choice, a concept he made himself, the genre and style that he wants. I guess, I should also add that many of Suga's lyrics gets censored lol. Instead of "I don't give a fuck, I don't give a fuck", we got "I don't give a uhhh, I don't give a uhhh" in the song 'On'. As Agust D, he is more free with the words. (Ex. Just listen to Agust D lol) That's just one of the examples.

In the behind the scenes video of this MV, Suga, said that the director wanted to do something low-key but Suga wanted to go all out so they, all together, came up with this concept. Suga said that the king was the "old" him, a tyrant, and the one who shot him is the new him. So yeah, he did have influence in regards to shooting this video.

This a solo project for Suga (Agust D), but Jin and Jungkook from BTS have a cameo. They are the two that start fighting each other in the market. Also, the drawing that is held up half way through is a caricature of the BigHit CEO, Bang PD, that Jungkook drew in an episode of Run BTS. This was filmed at Dae Jang Geum Park in the city of Yongin. It's a replica (mostly) of Gyeongbok Palace, which is a heritage site in Seoul. It was Yoongi's (Suga's) decision on where to film. BTS has filmed a few performances at Gyeonbok Palace that you should check out. The scar was Suga's idea. He wanted something the "looked cool", but also would symbolize the link between the two characters. The King is representative of Yoongi's past self that was selfish and greedy while the peasant is representative of his current self that is more humble and appreciative. Side not... the gun that he uses to shoot the King at the end is a historical piece actually called "Army". :)

The other one is his present self. So he shot his past self. "Daechwita" is a genre of Korean traditional military music. Korean traditional military music, Daechwita (大吹打) Daechwita is a music that was used as an accompaniment when the king came or the army marched in the Joseon Dynasty. The name of the last gun that Suga shot was "Army" Colt army model 1860

My Emperor (king of kings) starts the MV from the throne that belongs to him by blood. Suga's real name is Min Yoongi and he is related to last Empress of Korea. There is this permanent set for historical movies and TV-series where is also a 1:1 copy of their old Emperor's palaces including the perfect copy of the throne. That place is usually booked full but there was this pandemic happening and suddenly it was totally empty.. So what our Rap King does? He shows all of those rappers who are trying to flex like they should be allowed to say a peep in his presence and around his level of skill as a musician.. My very humble Emperor climbs to the throne that is his and shows those low lever rappers who and how, kills them in skill. Using his Tongue Technology is like beheading bound helpless victims - because the talent level is so great.. Suga could be reading back of his shampoo bottle and he would rule over those other rappers. He is my bias and I love our Little Grr Grr, who he is when he does Agust D projects. In BTS songs my favorite rapper is still J-hope, I like his softer more melodic raps in BTS songs. * Personally I think it is not a first reaction if you listen it first ant then comment it.. Try different things and do what you want, what feels best FOR YOU. And go with that. 💜💜💜 I'm actually in the team "pause as much as you like!" because if we want to watch the MV we watch the MV and not a reaction. His rap is solid, he hits notes on his inhale! When he changes flow as he stands tied up his rap has such an intimate tone it registers as if he is telling the listener a secret. He had a lot of influence for what he wanted to do. The two guys that were fighting behind him were Jungkook and Jin, 2 members of BTS. They wanted to be in the video with him. There is even another scene where they were going to choreo but decided on the fight instead. Where 5hey filmed is actually one of the palaces in Korea. Although I'm not sure which one. He is wearing a Hanbok. A traditional outfit from Korea. Now its already proven that Suga actually has family that were part of the last royal family of Korea. So the two main characters are Suga from the past, as emperor of Korea, and his reincarnation of said emperor in the same time. I guess the point to this is "Never bring a sword to a gun fight." Only one would stand at the end...

Fun side note: the 2 people who fight in the background are Jin (the one Suga bumps into) and Jungkook (the one that Jin hits with a fishing pole that starts the fight) from BTS. DKDKTV on KZbin explains what the song means from a Korean viewpoint and the symbolism. In a nutshell, Suga is both characters. Once he became super successful, like the king, he didn’t like who he was becoming. He wanted to be successful but realized that he wanted to be grounded, like the poor version of Suga. He killed that part of himself he didn’t like. By the way, Suga learned the sword dance in two days. Daechwita is what was sung when the king was out in public. Before the executioner was going to kill him and poor Suga started singing again, the king’s subjects started bouncing their heads with him. They were just bowed to the ground when the king was out-he even stood on one of them early in the video. Poor Suga won the people over so they didn’t kill him. So this is my second time on your channel. I've watched your Dis-ease reaction and I love it. To answer some of your questions that I think some fans already answered. Agust D is BTS Suga's alter ego which he uses on his mixtape. If you will dig deeper into BTS you'll know more about them and how hands-on they are to every album that they make since their debut(2013). Daechwita (literally "great blowing and hitting") is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by the wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching. Check the whole meaning here --- (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daechwita). There is also an explanation video by a Korean of this song made by DKDKTV you can check it out. Also, the costume he is wearing from the first video is called Hanbok a Traditional Korean Costume. What he is wearing is the King's robe with earrings and more. I dont know if you have heard of the korean series "Kingdom" on Netflix? (Zombies! recommended) . It is on the same location. BTS uses a lot of LUMPENS and the guy is a genius. Suga had a lot of influence on this production and if you want to know more I recommend the things @suga's iced-coffee is saying

@@febl76 I don't think Lumpens ever worked on Kingdom, they're mainly an MV director. MU:E did art direction for this and they also mostly work on MVs. I've never heard any crew of Kingdom working on Daechwita. Where did you get the info from? Perhaps you misconstrued people saying Daechwita is as beautifully shot as Kingdom as some crew from Kingdom working on Daechwita as well.
