I just wanna thank you for the “please maintain your own locs” video. It gave me the courage I needed to not be scared to wash my starter locs after a week and not wait a month, after I paid someone to do my comb coils ( the lady used to much gel , so itchy, but I can’t part well so I needed someone to start me off lol) now 1 week shy of a month, my hair is build up free, just oil, my parts are still intact, I combined a small loc she parted on my edges and now my hair is getting thick as I wash when I get itchy scalp. I feel free, comfortable and happier for this journey! It feels great to have confidence to do my own locs all I needed was to break thru the fear I was having! It’s so easy to do to!

i started my loc’s journey 1 year ago , I watched a few videos on how to retwist ur own hair , & i did , 1 main reason I chose to do my own is b/c… it’s my Crown , it’s my covering , some people carry negative energy , some people have a lot going on in their lives , and i believe in transfer of energy, spirits and etc …. so i chose to protect my crown …. and i speak blessing and growth and manifestation over my crown when i retwist ….

They came out very nice! Your locs are similar to mine, not too big but not small. At first I didn’t like mine much because every other loc video I see, the person has lots and lots of locs and they have small ones and do fun or cool colors and styles, but little by little I’m finding more videos like yours, with locs like mine (yours are super gorgeous btw). I just started my locs in 11/2020. I can’t wait until they are longer and I can put some color on them!

I retwisted my locs for the first time today....God my arms are killing me. I used Jamaican coconut castor oil with shea butter to retwist.. They 1 year 8months old. Thank you so much for the tutorial. Love from Kenya ❤️

perfect timing!! i'm doing my second retwist right now. i'll be a month tomorrow/the next day (took me two days to install hahah) and i was a bit worried about if i was retwisting too often but like i have to watch my hair and after watching it's impossible to not retwist unless i'm trying to go to the free form route which i'm not haha. can't wait until i can go without retwisting so often but until then i have patience. 😇🤍 (besides i 100% prefer retwisting to f*cking detangling whew )

Will retwisting starter locs every 2 weeks affect the thickness of your locs in the long run?

If you continue. That’s why I only recommend it in the starter loc stage, as your Locs are forming and unraveling constantly.
