Right, I know it's messed up but I love these two together. They seem as outsiders to have found an island with the other. They do their best given their world and messy heritage. I even think it's cool that apparently these people have a distinct ritual around binding the Blood. It still feels like something rare, done in times of hardship - like say a prophecy of winter coming.... It just displeases me that the Blood symbolism used in the series leans so heavily on incest (the variations of the triskelion for example) - and that the Dragon Rider symbolism is used to suggest tyranny. These are real-world references to the Holy Grail Family and give people the completely wrong idea about what it is that binds us. By the way, the Blood-mingling ritual was essentially a gay marriage, aka "becoming Brothers of the Cross" (Earth Axis mythology, the "true" Axis pointing to the Draco constellation, believed to save us from the effects of disasters - hence, Dragon Riders). No idea what happened with GRRM to put this obsession with incest and violence-porn forward like this, did you know he was on 'Beauty and the Beast' (Linda Hamilton/Ron Perlman)?!! 😮 As a young Ace person that series was life-giving for me.

On ep 2 now and I'm wondering..Are they once again going to make us care for a person, only to turn her into a tyrant? Daenerys 2? Or can they leave that stone unturned? I want no copy.

Na, doubt it, Rhaenyra is such a different queen and woman. One proof of that is how she truly considered bending the knee to keep peace in the realm rather than go to war to sit on the iron throne. That alone is a huge contrast to Rhaenyra & Daenerys. Thankfully Rhaenyra grew up with loving, decent, kind parents who taught her many things. Also Daemon taught her many lessons too including about kings landings people, the slums life, opinions, entertainment etc. Daemon even taught her about how to deal with political marriages, perks of being Targaryen royalty and finding a way to enjoy/make the most of life while still doing her duty to the realm, father & as heir to the iron throne.
