Thanks for hosting all the old Sun documentation! It's coming in real handy for two of my restorations!

This was a neat watch. I loved how good the casing cleaned up! Makes me wish I still had a couple of my 2000s Era monitors.

Yeah getting CRT monitors these days is a real challenge. LCD's are great but there's just something so nice about a CRT. One day they'll all be gone so I want to still enjoy them while I can.

That would look sweet alongside a retro machine inside a somewhat modern black case!

i was literally screaming at my screen for you to use a plastic scraper on the stickers...especially after the goo gone...but hey..it turned out great!..nice job

haha I've totally been there while watching someone else video. I had a plastic scraper but it wasn't doing a great job on most of them. My poor sour thumb nails ended up giving me the best results. And yeah totally agree, the cleanup turned out awesome. I don't think I added any more scratches to the monitor than it already had.

If the decals were tastefully done then maybe I'd leave it, but when it looks like a kids sticker book I'd rather it look normal again lol

Haha I got a solid laugh out of this. Thanks for the feedback.

Man, I would've used a hot air station to safely remove the atari and nvidia stickers. those looked rad.

Music is from RETRO HARDWARE. :) But anyway, CRT restoration is very important.

20:25 I'm guessing that is where that brown piece of plastic came from. A bit of what looks like glue to keep the choke aligned?
@c90s_tech3 жыл бұрын
Very possibly. I didn't notice it till later but it had some really specific patterns on the other side that made me think it was maybe part of a broken plastic toy that got lost inside the monitor via the vents on top.
