Greetings all sorry for releasing this so late. In this video I go over (most of) me restoring this awesome Vectrix one of my housemates owns. He actually offered to give it to me, but I insisted that it stay his, since he's had it since he was a kid. For some reason I don't have any pictures or video of all the epoxy work I did on the inside, but it was ALOT! Haha.
Hope you enjoy the video. I still have a long list of projects, experiments and restorations I want to finish. Cheers!
Aaaaand forgot to make a thumbnail... again... Fixed, not my best work but it's a thing. :D

Ahh interesting. Do you know what kind? Wonder why they weren't in the kit we got for it. Maybe they are a non-electrolytic?

Pretty surreal seeing so many animation frames on an early console. With cartridge ROM sizes being so low, it makes me wonder why they would prioritise that over more levels. Perhaps they 'did an Id' and were able to reuse game assets in order to accommodate more features.

Quite possibly. This thing really seems like it was ahead of it's time. We only played a couple games, but there are a bunch more all with pretty impressive graphics for the time.

Armor Attack was an arcade game by Cinematronics, the Vectrex had quite a few Cinematronics ports like Rip Off, Star Castle, etc. It was the first system to have a game ported to arcade (by Cinematronics) which was Cosmic Chasm. They had a Tempest like game called Web Warz. You can buy a multicart with every game on it and there is also reproduction overlays. Fantastic system and I have fond memories of it. There's a home brew community as well, and there is Atari vector game ports to it as well.

Haha thanks for the info. It just so happens I have a milti-cart on my cart on eBay that I'm planning on giving to the owner.

Never saw one of these in person! Whenever I see any of our machines with an integrated CRT I wonder what we will do when they stop working and no replacement is to be found... Maybe OLEDs in some years. 😔

Yeah really cool unit and glad it's in such good working order... after the re-cap anyway. But sadly over time the CRT's will die in everything that has one and they will fade into memory. Makes me sad to think about it. Just have to enjoy them while we can.

@@c90s_tech it make me kind of regret every time I use my big crt for anything but gaming, I should start using a TFT for that kind of stuff.
