j b: Not that weak, he was slashed on the hand, they call that 100% of the time they see it. Hell, in game 6 against Columbus, the Bruins had two such calls go against them, and only Nordström’s slash (barely) touched the actual hand (it rode up, so it wasn’t forceful, but there were worse calls that game). The other call was on a slash on Seth Jones where the Bruin only made contact with stick (which didn’t break or anything, wasn’t even a forceful rap). Care to wager who was called for that one? #63

@@LetsGoPens97 Marchand was trying to get off the ice and go to the bench for a line change and he turned his body to avoid contact. Best player in the National Hockey League this year; Brad Marchand. Most underrated player in the league as well, because Patrice steals all his shine. He is a big part of Patrice' success. Marchand can do it all. Score, pass, hit, fight, skate, dangle. He's a flat out beast on both ends of the ice.
@keepingitreel...80375 жыл бұрын
@BosoxnationI972 - I love Brad Marchand! And Bergeron, too, of course. They are awesome together! Add Pastrnak, they become the best line in the NHL. Brad had a 100 point season this year! No Bruin has done that since Joe Thornton did it back in 2002-03. Thornton had 36 goals that season. Brad also had 36 goals. Joe was a first round pick. Brad was a 3rd round pick. There have only been 10 Bruins in history, including Marchand who have reached the 100 pt mark. He can also kill penalties, and he has broken a Bruins record this year when he scored his 26th career, short handed goal. I wouldn't say he's the best player in the league like Dave D did, but I personally wouldn't trade him for anyone. He should be a Bruin for life, as should Bergeron. . .

@BosoxnationI972 Oh, and one more thing; Nobody cares how much hockey you've seen. That's an ignorant statement. The game evolves on a year in year out basis. This does not mean that there were not missed calls on the B's, because there were, but I'm only going to list the missed ones on the Canes. 0:04 Faulk slash on Marchand's stick (breaks Marchy's stick) 0:10 Foegele's slewfoot on Krug 1:06 McGinn elbowed Kuraly in the face before Kuraly retaliated (should have been matching minors, not just Kuraly being penalized) and this call obviously led to a Canes' PPG 3:08 Should have been a minor on Foegele for forcibly removing Kampfer's helmet 4:25 Staal crosschecks Marchand so hard that Staal's own stick breaks while doing so 6:17 Svech crosscheck on Chara I probably missed a few but there ya go. Carolina is a good team but if there is one thing this Bruins team has over most teams in the playoffs is their depth. Bruins legitimately go 4 lines deep and each one has a skilled defenseman that when they are playing well completely make the opposing team play at the Bruins pace. Still think this series is far from over.

Nicholas Katsikas couldn’t agree more. Canes are going to put up a big fight for the B’s if they want to get to the cup final
@billyboblillybob3445 жыл бұрын
I also agree but the Bruins seem to have this other quality about their play. As often as they seem to be short handed (and it infuriates me) while it actually being 5 on 5, they keep the play on the outskirts so quality opportunities against them are fewer and further between. They rarely hit the panic button and never are 'blown out' by anyone. If they remain healthy and Rask stays on top of his angles, their path to the Cup has been beaten down before them.
@Mattblaze14775 жыл бұрын
The deadline acquisitions of Coyle and Johansson made the Bruins a complete hockey team from top to bottom. They are going to be hard to beat, Especially now since Rask got sick of all the criticism and turned into a friggin brick wall before our eyes.

Canes fans and Bruins haters are right, the refs sucked. Where they’re wrong is it probably benefitted their team more. If they call every infraction by both teams, the disparity in power plays is much bigger. Hell, the Canes might never have got into the game because they only did so after refs ignored three clear calls on Canes players and then sent Kuraly to the box when it should’ve been matching.

Charlie McAvoy gets a game off for checking someone to the head incidentally; not targeted but still the main point of contact. Foegele elbows Krug in the jaw (targeted) then slew-foots him into the boards while referee Helen Keller is 10 feet away. No call and I wonder if the league will take action. The calls in this game were horrific for both teams. It's a shame that some refs clearly still have this odd mentality of whether a call should be made or not; not because of a question of an existent infraction but because how it might affect the game. The Canes' first goal came on a power play (spectacularly designed/implemented play by the way) where a Cane shouldered a Bruin in the face after the whistle so the Bruin punches the Cane in return. In my opinion, the only reason the Bruin went in for 2 minutes was because it was already 1-0 Boston. Had it been a tie game, both or neither would have gone. This is the horseshit that the league needs to clean up. I'd rather see teams win because they performed better, not because the refs intervened (accidentally or purposefully).
@keepingitreel...80375 жыл бұрын
Hahaha! I loved your, "Helen Keller" reference! The class of officials these days is lower than it should be. Apparently, the standards are, can you skate, and do you look good with your clean and pressed trousers, shiny helmet, white skate laces, and black-polished skate toes. Vision, game management, and general overall awareness has, evidently escaped them. How about the other night, when the puck clearly went into the protective netting, came back down, and ended up in the back of the Bruins net? I understand the rule as explained, but why didn't at least one of those, eight official eyes, notice that? Perhaps there were 4 Helen Kellers in stripes that night. So, in my score book, Tuukka Rask gets credited with a 1 goal shutout. . .
