I posted this one without any edits, it's one take, it could be tighter in sections but I hope you enjoy it despite that.

Thanks! I recorded this about 10 bpm faster than the original. It just felt better, but maybe that's because there's no drums. In the future I think I'll stick to the original Daft Punk tempos as they are super funky! Thanks for watching!

Thanks! The arrangements are something I've been working on. I try to take the parts from each song that might translate well to bass and see what I can do with them. There are endless possibilities, sometimes the toughest part is deciding how to play it, and every Bass makes the song feel different. For example I've jammed a bit of "Lose Yourself to Dance" on Upright and it's totally different but sounds cool! I might make a video of that :)

This was awesome. One note: didn't seem like you were really groovin until about 1:22. Before that point you just sound like you're going through the motions, no feel. After that though you absolutely kill it.

Thanks! The stompbox is an EBS bass IQ. The threshold is set high and the attack fast, just adds a bit of funk! EBS makes great pedals, although I also have a couple electro harmonix pedals which are lots of fun but not as delicate :)

It's true. The lighting in our apartment is very low and I'm using some budget gear, a couple desk lamps, they are better than nothing but create very strong shadows. I just bought a small lighting kit, 2 softboxes, hopefully that will help for future videos! Lots of little things to get better at, but with every step hopefully there is progress.

Thanks! That would be an EBS Bass-IQ. It's a very nice sounding envelope filter, similar to something like a QTron which was made famous by Bootsy Collins.

Good Question! I've always wondered why all new basses don't just have 24 frets! My G&L only has 21, and at times it's created challenges that wouldn't exist with 24 frets. Challenges can be good, like 4 strings vs 6, it's not necessarily better but it does force you to think differently. The main thing if you're looking for a new bass is how it feels, sounds and plays. It also depends on what you are playing, most bass lines don't need 24 frets, some solo bass stuff like Wooten pieces might.

It's kinda similar. I mean the first 4 strings are the same tuning. However each instrument can be played very differently. I also play guitar but I play it like a Bass player, if that makes any sense. The notes are not an issue it's just a different technique, on guitar I have no chops so I tend to play much simpler lines and chords. Sometimes Guitarists playing bass can sound cool too. Jimi Hendrix came up with some amazing Bass Lines!

This is really good man, so is your get lucky cover, but what would make them really great is getting some more instruments behind you. Maybe some jazzy piano and sax or trumpet to really fill out the songs. At any rate, great work! I enjoyed them thoroughly.
