Those of you complaining about the 'autotune' in this piece don't really seem to understand the genre of electronica, or Daft Punk in particular. When electronic music hits the charts, people tend to judge it the same way they judge pop music, but that's a mistake. Electronic artists do not put an emphasis on vocal talent, and that's why 99% of the time, Daft Punk doesn't even sing. In electronic music, voices can be - and usually are - fake. And that's perfectly okay. That's because electronic artists care more about the skillful engineering of sounds, not the quality of one's singing abilities. That's one of the special things about electronic music: even people with poor voices can be a great electronic artists if they are talented composers.

I met a girl by chance on holiday over 20 years ago when I was 11 or 12 and had the best week or two of my life. The feeling I had when I was with her I’ve never had back. Maybe it was young love, maybe true love? But the feelings I felt during that time come flooding back when I listen to this song. All I can think about was that holiday in Malta in the summer of 1998 and how happy I was, but then how upset I was to leave. Since I’ve made contact with her and it’s great to hear she’s well and has a wonderful life of her own, as do I. Such a brief moment in time in relation to my whole life but those two weeks will stay with me forever. Thank you Daft Punk, you’ve hit the nail on the head with this one. Here take this -->> [Verse 1] I didn't want to be the one to forget I thought of everything I'd never regret A little time with you is all that I get That's all we need because it's all we can take One thing I never see the same when you're 'round I don’t believe in him, his lips on the ground I wanna take you to that place in the “Roche” But no one gives us any time anymore He asks me once if I’d look in on his dog You made an offer for it, then you ran off I got this picture of us kids in my head And all I hear is the last thing that you said [Pre-Chorus] "I listened to your problems, now listen to mine" I didn't want to anymore, oh-oh-oh [Chorus] And we will never be alone again 'Cause it doesn't happen every day Kinda counted on you being a friend Can I give it up or give it away? Now I thought about what I wanna say But I never really know where to go So I chained myself to a friend 'Cause I know it unlocks the door And we will never be alone again 'Cause it doesn't happen every day Kinda counted on you being a friend Gotta give it up or give it away Now I thought about what I wanna say But I never really know where to go So I chained myself to a friend Some more again [Verse 2] It didn't matter what they wanted to see He thought he saw someone that looked just like me The summer memory that just never dies We worked too long and hard to give it no time He sees right through me, it's so easy with lies Cracks in the road that I would try and disguise He runs his scissors at the seam in the wall He cannot break it down or else he would fall One thousand lonely stars hiding in the cold Take it, oh I don't wanna sing anymore [Guitar Solo] [Pre-Chorus] "I listened to your problems, now listen to mine" I didn't want to anymore, oh-oh-oh [Chorus] And we will never be alone again 'Cause it doesn't happen every day Kinda counted on you being a friend Can I give it up or give it away? Now I thought about what I wanna say But I never really know where to go So I chained myself to a friend 'Cause I know it unlocks the door And we will never be alone again 'Cause it doesn't happen every day Kinda counted on you being a friend Can I give it up or give it away? Now I thought about what I wanna say But I never really know where to go So I chained myself to a friend 'Cause I know it unlocks the- [Bridge] I don't understand, don't get upset I'm not with you We're swimming around, it's all I do When I'm with you [Chorus] And we will never be alone again 'Cause it doesn't happen every day Kinda counted on you being a friend Can I give it up or give it away? Now I thought about what I wanna say But I never really know where to go So I chained myself to a friend 'Cause I know it unlocks the door And we will never be alone again 'Cause it doesn't happen every day Kinda counted on you being a friend Can I give it up or give it away? It’s so infectious, no matter how heart breaking it is, it’s so beautiful, downright irresistible, it keeps you coming back even when you feel like you don’t want to feel the pain, but never in an aggressive way, it’s somehow so real yet so soft

Idk how this video has so many dislikes. Its not only one of Daft Punk's best songs imo but also featuring Mr.Casablancas who is arguably one of the greatest vocalists from the modern rock generation. Great song and the video is 10/10
