I love my Outburst but I paddle old style boats almost exclusively. My main boat is the RPM so I am used to almost no rocker and full displacement. I am also pretty short so it is comfortable for me. It is stable, goes fast and enders well but it is not playful and you have to stroke over everything to keep it from diving and slowing down. Great video as usual!

I've had an outburst in the quiver for about 5 years now. It took me a while to get good at making it go where I want it to go. And honestly I may have lost some of that. I recently walked off the savage because I felt like I didn't have as much control over it as I'd like. I stopped paddling it because I got a stinger and that was the shiny new thing. The stinger is easier to maneuver and I regret selling it. I love how fast is. I like it for attaining at home on the easy water and for stuff with wide lines like the lower gauley. People say the sawblade outburst has more rocker than the one you're paddling. I haven't seen the two side by side so I can't say. I've had 2 sawblade versions and the bow does curve up a bit.

Gauley is exactly where I think this boat would shine when I go gauley I’m mostly in playboats but someone that’s wants to burn up the rivers and just have fun down river this would be great

Yep... doesn't live up to the hype. I got rid of mine. Amazing how uncomfortable an 11' boat can be! The only things I'll miss about it are (1) the pirouettes and (2) catching big, green, glassy waves that 9' boats can't quite catch.
@WadeHarrison2 жыл бұрын
Exactly my thoughts buddy yeah the bow pirouettes were good and like you said needs a big glass wave to really catch anything

I've got a question for the viewers, and Wade. I'm 26, I've been kayaking since I was a little kid, been white water rafting just as long, but I have never been white water kayaking. Recently I've decided I want to get into it, and eventually over the next few years to get all my swiftwater rescue, and first aid certifications. Eventually I want to work as a guide, firefighter, and swiftwater rescue guy full time. This year's goals are to buy the white water kayak gear and learn to roll. What are some easy things that a beginner might miss when it comes to gear? Also, what are some goals I should set in training for the course?

When out on the river I try my best to keep eye out for any paddlers in need or even raft customers

Dude everyone knows you gotta season an Outburst or RPM, like a cast iron skillet. One good solid piton, and you got yourself the team rocker, almost 3" 👌

I had a Dagger blast which is very similar that I used when I was a kid. Paddled it a couple of years ago on the Ocoee right before I sold it and was amazed at how hard it was to get the stern down. That it was just me, so I’m glad to see you struggle as well.

dude, totally unrelated. i hate my large machno...paddles like a fricking bath tub...yea it won't tip over but jeez...and my knees are right at the bolts and the plastic where the padding ends...ouch...can't afford a new scorch and i am afraid i would hate the outfitting since it is the same as machno....paddle tellico, ocoee, maybe cheoa. essentially class III/IV in the southeast and I need an solid river runner that i can boof the hell out of, and work the river with (catch eddies, ferry, peel out) without feeling like a wrestled with a 500 lb gorrilla and won't beat my ass down if i miss my line...i know it's asking alot....looking at older boats....stomper..had a jefe liked it...karma/zen....thoughts? thanks
@WadeHarrison2 жыл бұрын
Well yeah the machno is just a creeker with not much else going on just point down stream and run the mank As far as something different well the older boats don’t hold up to the new crop but a few might find used or at a good deal Waka OG or steeze Dagger mamba LL remix Pyranha ripper 1 seems you wanting something to creek but still work the river these will be better then the machno for that
