Title updated to clarify that 'clean' means we have removed the sound effects! The story doesn't feature any 'explicit' words/language. And a link to the version WITH SFX: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6KsoZ2kibSJh7M

The fact that HorrorBabble took the time to produce a 2nd more complete and "clean" version of Lovecraft's epoch-making "Dagon" reflects both its dedication to the production of high-quality adaptations and its admirable awareness of and responsiveness to fan suggestions. Excellent again, HorrorBabble. EDIT: FYI, "clean: in this case means without the addition of music and other audio effects.

This story is a literary masterpiece. The amount of detail contained in this short story is amazing. Lovecraft knocked the ball out of the park on this one. Ian, as always, knocked the ball out of the park on his recording. Great job, Ian! Thanks for bringing this timeless classic to us. Fantastic rendition. When the story stated, "that the packet of which I was super cargo fell a victim to the German sea raider," early on I knew a good tale and yarn was ahead.

Warren isn’t dead. But he’s been in a coma since 2017. He woke up briefly last month and almost died of cringe at the state of the world. Fortunately he hit himself with the bedpan hard enough to induce another coma.

Seven: Afterward Carter would recall that it had been the allure of Knick-Knacks which had been been his undoing; for even as he read on he had found himself, though unwilling increasingly distracted and then mesmerized by the queer advertisements. For as he read them Carter had succumbed to a sudden fatigue, overwhelming and inexplicable. A lethargy that had driven him to his bed, located behind a heavy brocade curtain inside a small recess at the further end of his attic. And there he had dreamed.

*Always love hearing more Lovecraft. Out of curiosity, have you made any attempts to reach existential (and often cosmic) horror writer, Thomas Ligotti, regarding reading some of his works? I understand the man is something of a philosopher on the subjects of pessimism and anti-natalism; perhaps you could lead with that angle, using your channel as a means of disseminating his dismal message to humanity through his equally dreadful poems and short stories.* Gonna bold this so it sticks out.

@@HorrorBabble The mere fact you reached out to him and other authors like Ramsey Campbell delights me as a listener. We appreciate that you're always seeking to expand the breadth and depth of your source material; you care about enriching our lives as subscribers and channel members and that puts you leagues ahead of other babblers of horror. Truthfully, I do occasionally patronize them, who may not necessarily have the lawful right to read aloud the works of living authors but, I've yet to find one who rivals your theatrical dedication and vocal euphony (NoHomo, of course). If I may, for my benefit and that of anyone else reading this subsection, what was he like? Was it just by email or did you actually speak with him over the phone? Also, what, if any, of his stories did you particularly like and recommend? Forgive the frenzy, it's not every day a creator like Ian Gordon (or company) graces a reply with near-immediate response (for which I am grateful).
