A sad and hopeless story British authors seem so pessimistic This one is more of a style exercise than any thing else Your talent deserves better material than this

Lol, have you not read anything by Poe or Lovecraft? You should check out the sort of stories Horrorbabble mainly does. Hardly optimistic! 😆 I think there are Peppa Pig or Sesame Street channels out there if you want something a bit more uplifting.

I am 78 and 65 years ago my cousin read this story aloud to me. I was on holiday at my aunt's house and cousin Michael shared his room with me. Michael would have been about 20 and very much into ghost stories, He read this story so well that it has stuck in my mind ever since. Hearing it again tonight, I remembered it almost word for word. What a well crafted tale and so brilliantly narrated by Ian Gordon. Thank you.

Excellent!...both story & narration. Least anyone forget, after Hitler came russia, so there's a double dread coming into the scene. Hitler, like Warren is dead, but russia keeps on ticking.

It is not okay for a video to have the same screen for extended periods of time. Screen burnout is a real thing, still acknowledged as of 2024. Lazy producers are wrecking you your television or monitor when all they have to do is change the background once in awhile. I guess that's too much work for the money they rake in from ignorant viewers. Lol on you fools. 😂

So, after all these years, I finally hear the origin of “You fool, Warren is dead!” and also embarrassingly realized that it was from a story I’d read at least a time or two in the past 30 years. I should’ve known all along.

I don't know that HB story, do you know the title? I wrote a story a while back based on the Hellboy story "The Corpse" (which in turn is a version of an old traditional folk story), but not this one. The main influence for this story is the ventriloquist dummy section in the 1945 British portmanteau film "Dead of Night". I just find them creepy!
