I played this video and the ocean became choppy with white caps. A thick fog rolled in with the surf as the twilight fell, which is somewhat strange. I live in the middle of the Mohave desert.

Konaka's The Shadow Over Innsmouth, The Shadow Over Innsmouth (2015) by Brian Moore, not to mention the thousands of other stories and pieces of media that just slap Deep Ones in and say "Look! Lovecraft!" even if they don't follow the rest of the story, ie. Darkest Dungeon. Video game wise, there's the ever-beloved Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth and The Sinking City, among others I'm certain I missed. For contrast, when's the last time you saw an adaptation of the Dunwich Horror?

It's so strange to look at the way Lovecraft viewed the sea and compare it to what I know as the sea. He depicts it as something dark, mysterious, and evil, when in truth its a colorful world that serves as the reason for all life

To be fair, at the time people didn't know jack about the oceans. All they knew was that they were deep and full of dangerous creatures and terrible storms that sunk ships. There were no submarines to go exploring.

Yes, this uses the tune of a hymn called "Eternal Father Strong to Save," written in the 1860s. It's also the official hymn of both the British and American navies.

It's kinda confusing anyway. The Lovecraft Story "Dagon" aint playing in Innsmouth but the Dagon venerated in "the shadow over Innsmouth" is technically not the creature Dagon from the story of the same name or Dagon at all but Cthulhu pretending to be him and a being known as mother Hydra altogether - madness prevails!!
