Pro producer has cheat sheet stickers on his keys…. Proof you should never let stigma ruin your creativity. If that’s what you need to do what you do, do it.
@NativeInstruments2 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more, just do what you gotta do!

What’s the cheat sheet ? Is it just the keys labeled or what ? Would love to know.
@dontknow3949 Жыл бұрын
@@r.i.psteez929 yeah people just think it looks amateur I think especially when you’ve worked with sooo many huge artists they’d expect you just know your music theory. I’ve been making music on and off for 10+ years now and honestly don’t know ANY music theory 😂 then again I am mostly a percussionist and sample-beat-maker for the most part
@NobodyImportant-ef3de2 ай бұрын
@@dontknow3949 I know some generally but I still have these stickers on. Most hip hop beats don't use music theory. Only something soulful or R&B.

@ellejaye53202 жыл бұрын
I love how he speaks about it as well "create the world" it lives in. Producers often give beats like a bag of chips and as an artist you want a producer to recognize that a beat can make what you want to say pour out of you or force you to squeeze it out based on how many colours they gave you to paint with
@patrickmaitwe22292 жыл бұрын
Damn... I feel I haven't been respectful to my art form... I definitely fell into the "crank out beats like a factory" mentality. But each song has the POTENTIAL to become a masterpiece and should be treated that way. Thanks, Elle.

Dahi is definitely one of my favorite producers in current times. He has his own sound. I don't think I've ever seen do a generic trap or drill beat, like a lot of current beat makers do. He also doesn't use fake 808 kits on everything. It's crazy to hear how many rappers basically use the same sounding beat over and over. There's obviously a bit of difference between trap/drill beats, but they mostly use the same rhthym, drum kit, and arpeggiated melody, with the same piano, pluck, bell, and sine or saw wave synth sound. These elements are 99.8% of all trap and 95% of drill. UK and NYC are at least doing different stuff. Florida has it's players too, but other than that Trap and Drill beats are corny and generic.
