I'm getting a ton of use from my OB-4 and find it super inspiring! Yes, it's used mostly for simple BT music duties, but I really like using the ambient feature for washy background music while working. I also use my guitar modeler (Quad Cortex) into the line-in and it sounds VERY good. As it's always listening, I can work on writing ideas and then scroll back to listen to them or use it as a looper to play over. Its fun, easy, and makes me want to play with it all the time!

Man you really do get whats so special about teenage engineering! Would love to hear your thoughts on the tp-7 (with the new editing features). The real beautify of playing with the OB-4 is that it lowers your friction to do things. And for creativity, or capturing the moment, removing the extra steps is so good. I love hiking with the speaker too. You really can create magical moments with it.

Another thing that I truely love about the OB-4 is that it lets you manipulate the audio stream in new ways that was not possible before. Warping it, shaping it to fit your mood and it opens you up to new ways of thinking about audio. Do you know about the Paul Stretch (paulxstretch) software allows you to stretch an audio file to be extremely long. Likes days long!

couldn't agree more! there's nothing like it! I am typing this as my orange OB-4 is sitting right beside me. Always an arms reach away lol

How many OB-4s do you have? :O !! also what do you think about the John Lennon edition. I am tempted, but ultimate will probably get the tp-7 instead.

One question. Can you adjust the in/out loop points dynamically as the loop is playing back ? Thanks!
@Khordmaster2 ай бұрын
good question. you can adjust the actual loop and slide it forward or back but you cannot change the point of the loop ie. slide it forward a tiny bit. does that make sense?

@@KhordmasterThanks for explaining it ! If TE implements nudging the in/out points of the loop whilst it’s playing then I’m sold !! Thanks again

@@manuelcicca no problem. I’ve never actually thought of this until you mentioned it but that could be incredibly interesting to make it even more versatile! I’m going to talk to my contact! How do you see yourself using it with that feature?

@@KhordmasterI’m glad you appreciate my point! It’s useful if you want to make perfect loops from unquantized music. Say your OUT point is a little late, you can press the right button to tell the OB-4 you want to edit its position and then you rotate the wheel counter clock wise to move it earlier . This fine tuning happens in real time as it plays so you can hear how it’s affecting the loop .I do it all the time with my pioneer XDJ and have to say it’s very satisfying . Thank you!

@@manuelciccagot ya! Note you can change the from raw to auto… raw lets you get the precise loop you create whereas auto uses some magic try to make it to the beat (assuming there’s a detectable one)

Cant believe that there is no option to go instalty to the start of the tape. Really annoying. Otherwise really great tool
