Dai Yoshihara’s 1,600hp-Capable Competition BRZ Tests at Irwindale Speedway

How insane are top-spec Formula Drift Pro1 cars? Dai Yoshihara’s BRZ gives us a little hint at what they’re capable of: to the tune of 1,600 horsepower. Now, we all know that in a comp car it doesn’t make sense to run full beans all the time. But when your “low boost, detuned” version of a car still makes 1000 ponies, it’s pretty damn serious. Larry checks out the build, and gets his first ever ride-along in a pro1 car at Irwindale Speedway.

I remember meeting Dai in 2010 at Irwindale during practice runs for FD. It was the coolest thing ever! On top of that, he gave me Gran Turismo 5 XL! I still have it in the wrapping and remember it being the best winter break.

I love these for the cars but I found a new layer. My future son in law loves video games and he and my daughter love Anime. So I love the cars as a fabricator and old school hot rodder.
