I have a Piaggio Porter 4x4, it is basically a re-branded Hijet with the Daihatsu 993cc engine in it. I own it since 2012, and it is one of the most useful veichle I ever had.

Hi John, I love your video, then I caught a glimpse of your Tennessee plate and seen it was sequatchi county! I love that area of signal mtn, Dunlap, and going over to mcminnville on 30! I lived in murfreesboro and then in hixson for years. Would love to haul "mini pearl" down that way! I bought my 93 Suzuki carry from Duncan but in Christiansburg Va. Mine is 4x4 with diff lock and axle lock, as well as an Extra Low gear that can only be used if you are in 4x4. Keep making cool videos

I've been looking for a Hijet climber with little to no rust and A/C that's old enough to import into the US, but they're not easy to find. I almost talked myself into a 4WD version with the HI/LO transfer case and no diff lock, but this video has me looking for the Climber again. :-)

Hijets are the best. Were did you get yours. I bought my 1990 s83p Climber from Duncan. Do you know of any meet ups in middle Tn?

I thought that that was going to happen a few times especially one time you could see the one back tire come off of the ground. All of the weight is in the front of the vehicle

Hey man awesome vid, I got one in building up. How high is your lift kit and what size tires do you have on? My main problem is I hit the front bumper on hills, you seem to have a bunch more clearance on yours.

I used qa1 springs from summit in the front(I forget the model number) you can find it by googling it. Lifted the front 1.5” and improved the ride a ton. Shackle in the back. Any higher than that and I was running into driveline issues. Tires are 25”.

Awesome, thanks for the info will look into the springs and will go bigger on the tires, I have 23" cause that's what I read was the biggest you can go. Now I see 25s work great. Cheers bud

i bought one of these in Grand Turismo 2 off the PlayStation 2 back in the day. comes with; i think 48hp and you can also do a stage 2 turbo for 108hp. talk about a beast!

Didn’t have to use spacers ? No rubbing on the front shocks ? Any chance you remember the exact tire size ? 25x10x12? Or were the fronts 25x8x12

25x8 square. No spacer, no rubbing on shocks but I did change to a progressive eibach spring.

Genial esa mini camioneta daihatsu de los años 90tas genial buen estado y linda de verdad esa camioneta daihatsu no se si es daihatsu hijet. O daihatsu 1000 que era un modelo que salió en los años 90tas que venía de versión de furgón station wagon. Y camioneta. Eso pero similares al fin y al cabo son daihatsu y los mismos motores y rendimiento y económia y utilidad eso y el modelo daihatsu modelo 1000 era el mismo que el hijet solo cabía en detalles estéticos eso este icono de daihatsu genial vehículo el furgón daihatsu igual e visto modelos de los años 70 tas y 80 tas ahí eran más pequeños y motores más pequeños de 360 cc en los años 70 tas. Y a comienzos de los años 80 tas ya traían un motor de 550 cc y cargaban en promedio de 500 kilos de carga a 550 kilos era harto para estos vehículos pequeños y con esos motores pequeños pero eficazes y duraderos y poca manutención y miy útilez estos vehículos furgón daihatsu cuando eran cerrados sin vidrios a los lados y con vidrios eran station wagon eso genial los furgones daihatsu de los años 70 tas y 80 tas y Ya en los años 90tas más bien a finales de los 80tas y 90tas fueron más grandes en carrocerías y motor y potencia y capacidad de carga y dimensiones de el vehículo y comodidad mas equipo pero con la misma utilidad del vehículo y calidad y seguridad. Y un vehículo no tan costoso y en realidad útil para el y traslado de personas eso el daihatsu de los años 90tas ya venía con un motor de 1000cc y más hp que los de los años ochenta eso y ya con llantas de 12 pulgadas. Y capacidad de 800 a 850 kilos y igual era harto para estos vehículos hacian el mismo trabajo que las camionetas de los años 90tas doble cabina cargaban los mismo y la mayoría cargaban menos 750 kilos las toyotas y chevrolet y otras incluso las primeras camionetas chinas como la great wall de los años 80 tas y 90 tas eso el furgón daihatsu de los años 70 tas al año 1994, fueron los mejores vehículos diseñados y económicos y útiles y versátiles y bonitos eso mi padre tuvo un furgón daihatsu modelo 55 Wide. Año 1984 color amarillo crema. Tipo station wagon llantas de 10 pulgadas y para 6 personas y capacidad de carga de 500 kilos y lo tuvo por 22 años y se lo compraron después en total anduvo por lo que supe 30 años hasta el año 2014 eso después no supe mas de este vehículo genial daihatsu super vehículo económico y genial siempre y por siempre el furgón daihatsu. it would do much better on low speed trails if it has the Suzuki 2 cylinder Turbo Diesel engine in it it only has 32 hp's but believe me it's better than the turbo gas! 😂 there's Torque where it should be
