Hey man I'm from Aus There's a couple of twisty roads where I am What width are those wheels and tyres you had on Did they fit straight on?
@AutomotiveKarnage5 жыл бұрын
Hay mate thank you for watching. The tires are 195/55/15, I believe the wheels are 5.5 wide but will have to check if you like. Fronts where no problem. Rears where really close to the lower control arm but never fouled. I ended up rolling the rear guards as it did scrap on big bumps. Hope this helps

@@AutomotiveKarnage It would be great if you could check the wheel width please

Hi, do you happen to know if the front seats can recline flat enough to land to the rear seats? Would be great if they can somewhat form into a makeshift bed.
@AutomotiveKarnage Жыл бұрын
Gday mate, its been awhile since i sold the car. But i do recall the front seats do not go flat.

I always look out for un-pimped cars, there easy to spot and to walk away.

Fair enough, each to their own.

Hi did you have replace your oil pan gasket on the sirion?
@AutomotiveKarnage Жыл бұрын
No sorry never had to do that.
@GG-124k Жыл бұрын
@@AutomotiveKarnage i have to change it but it's a PAIN! I have to move the front engine mount to move the oil filter housing so I can remove the base pan. I have to Unbolt the compressor to remove a single bolt on the front mount bracket

Do these cars handle well? What about with strut or different suspension setup?

I'm keen to buy one of these the 102hp ones, and mod it a bit to make it ride decent. Did the air intake mod work well ?
@AutomotiveKarnage5 жыл бұрын
Hay mate, I had a lot of fun modding this car. sadly I was never presented a opportunity to push it to its limits. where I live is all straight roads. It definitely had potential to be a great little car and I would highly recommend heading over to the livetodai forum. it is still very active and is just the best bunch of guys and galls full of knowledge.

The air pipe, is φ75 or φ68?
@AutomotiveKarnage4 жыл бұрын
do you mean 75mm? the diameter was 40mm. I just used pvc pluming pipe.
@GiovannyCapone4 жыл бұрын
@@AutomotiveKarnage Yes, φ75 is 75mm in diameter. I have the same car, Daihatsu sirion M100 1.0, but when I took the messurements of my filterbox from the back side, it was 57mm. So, if you been used 40mm pipe, there are two conclusions, or my micrometer is faulty, or you did put the pipe very deep into the rubber where the diameter is smaller. I 'm not trying to start a quarrel. I want to do the same as you did, so I wanted info from someone who did it! Thank you! I wll try with 50mm and 40mm, even with 63mm pipe fittings to see what is the best for me. Then I will take it a step further, I will paint the pipe black or even nickel color with heat paint. Thank you again good sir!

Darn I just threw the intake out so I am not able to confirm the size. It was 40mm or 50mm. I do remember it wasn’t a perfect fit and I had to clamp the rubber joiner on pretty tight. A few other things to note, the filter ended up real low in the engine bay so if you are driving in the wet weather a lot keep that in mind. Also, where the pipe bends to go down there is a good spot there to add a mounting bracket. I never did and it made the pipe rattle around a bit and ware a hole in the pipe. At the end of the day it worked out really well and I could feel a small improvement in the low-end torque which is what I wanted to achieve. The intake sounded awesome as well lol. Let me know if you need any more info, I am always keen to help out.

@@AutomotiveKarnage Thank you for the tips. I'm not planning to build it to go so deep in the engine bay, as you did. I'll keep everything you said in mind. As for the hole, I spotted one on the stock pipe of the filter too. So I figured that I had to do the same in my build. Thank you again. Have a nice day!

@@AutomotiveKarnage Well, 40mm is away to small, 50mm is a little bit smaller than what I wanted it to be and 75mm is very big to fit.. So tomorrow I will buy a 63mm pvc part, to see if it will fit. Otherwise, I will take a 50mm slise, I will cut it throu and then, I will make the slise overlap the pipe that goes inside the rubber. It help's when "you are a plumber"! Good thing I am! LoL!
