DAILY BABY ROUTINE | 5 MONTHS OLD | Lucy Jessica Carter

5 month old baby routine (I have twins). We don't follow a 'set' routine, but here is how our day usually goes :)
Wake between 7-8am
Morning nap 2 hours after wake up time. (Nap for 1-2 hours)
Wake up after nap & play on playmat, sensory toys etc
Afternoon nap two hours after wakeup time. (Nap for 1-2 hours)
Wake up after nap & playtime again. Walk outdoors, fresh air, time on playmat & with sensory toys
Bath time around 5.45 - 6 & bedtime after (the girls fall asleep otherwise), Rosabella goes to bed at this time but India likes to stay up!
The girls drink around 4 4-5oz bottles per day & then another two through the night. They are reflux babies so prefer to drink little & often and they are fed on demand

I notice you don’t seem to do many sensory activities with the girls and you weren’t sure how to entertain them. I remember feeling the same around that age. I’d recommend looking up sensory baby ideas on Pinterest, putting s mirror st floor level and doing tummy time with them do they can watch themselves in the mirror, foil blanket, different materials taped to the wall or high chair table, sensory box, paddling pool, also I just bought a uv beach tent for my garden which is fab so my baby can come in the garden with me and I just put some blankets down and his play mat and he loves it. Can’t believe how big they are now they are beautiful Lucy ❤️

Lucy, this was a really nice vlog! I always enjoy seeing your beautiful children! All of them made an appearance here! I can't believe how dark the boy's skin is next to the girl's skin! Such a difference now, but definitely could change! You looked gorgeous in your white playsuit/dress (I couldn't tell which)! I have had a reflux baby. It was so NOT easy. My heart goes out to you , it’s tough and your doing it with twins , so hats off to you girl . Once I started mine on solids after six months along with reflux medication that her paediatrician prescribed she got a lot better.

Amazing how different the twins are like you said and yet you do the same things with them. And that's it, it's not a one size fits all, every baby is different. Will be so interesting to watch their personalities grow and develop as they get older, they may be twins but they could be like chalk and cheese you never know 😂 you do an amazing job and have loved watching your videos for about 3 years now ❤ Currently pregnant with another girl, whom we cant wait to meet, including her 3 year old big sister!!!

Hi hope you’re ok? I just wanted to say I had my daughter the same day you had the twins and I’m a first time Mum and have been getting myself in a bit of a state lately that I’m not doing things right and my daughter should be doing this and that and I should be doing more with her but I do exactly the same as you on a daily basis, tummy time, time on her play mat, sensory toys, practicing sitting up and reaching for things and a long walk in the pram. She only naps for 30mins at a time and is tired every 2 hours, I’d love her to nap for longer but she just won’t. My daughter rolls from her front to her back sometimes but hasn’t quite mastered it like your girls yet but I’ve learnt that all babies are different and do things at different times and to not be so hard on myself. Thank you for showing a real day in the life 😊😊 xxx

Lovely video.. just an idea but maybe if your bedroom is darker then the sleeping will become easier. I found using both blackout blinds and black out curtains worked best so my babies could differentiate between night and day xx💓

Yes 1 of my twins Isla is alot harder to settle at night aswell my other twin Ava is always the first to go sleep lol its so hard to try keep them in same routine but like you said it's not always possible when there so young but they mostly feed at same time so I'm hoping that stays that why it does make it a lot easier.. Love your play mat and the teething rings your girls have.. My girls will be getting ready for them soon so will be looking for ones like that x

My little boys play mat is the same, he can barely reach anything on it! I’ve started laying him on a cushion, on the play mat so he’s a little bit higher and can reach the toys!xx

Hiya Lucy, my daughter will 6 months on the 17th of June and she is the same with her bottle in the mornings! I’ve stopped giving it to her when she wakes up and waiting an hour so that she’s had time for abit of a play first! Also she hasn’t had any contact with anyone other than me and hubby for the last two months and have noticed after meeting with my parents yesterday she definitely was very wary of different people and almost scared of them! Hoping some more visits will help with her fear of other people! Lockdown with no socialisation was bound to happen 😞 Love your videos xx

Hi Louise, aw I can totally understand that. The girls are the same if we are on a walk, they don’t really like other people. I’m sure it will come back to them, we are naturally social beings after all 🥰🥰
