youre talking about dwarfism but people ie adults with dwarfism importantly dont look like children theyre just short. they still have the development of other adults theyre just short because of their dwarfism. nahida, importantly, is purposefully reminiscent of a child despite her actual age being hundreds of years old. so yeah, people find it weird when you talk about nahida or dori like that when theyre meant to be Visual Reminders of children with their size, higher pitched voices, facial design, etc. also, about clara, her mannerisms style of speech and importantly her interactions with the cast around her paint her as a minor. in genshin they do the same thing not everyone whos a kid has a kid model. Collei for example when we meet her is still a teenager that goes for xingqiu, bennett, razor, chongyun, and others. svarog acts as her "father" figure here constantly protecting and sheltering her from harm and she always calls on him. theres that idle animation where he twirls her around the way that is meant to remind someone of a father dancing with his daughter. the trailblazer treats her like a younger sibling and she always refers to him as her older sibling. shes very innocent in the way children have a tendency to act. hoyo is not afraid to sexualize childrens bodies when they create them and it sucks but its weird to posture that there are random exceptions to the rule when you have to consider the fact that theyre the ones who wrote the lore they made nahida look like a child On Purpose and even if its a good reason that doesnt change that you can see her bloomers and she looks like That its still weird as hell. hope that makes sense.

person above already said everything important, but cuz I'm a nerd I want to add something: Zhongli's pretty universally considered to be an old man by the fandom lol. And even if 500 is old to a normal human, compared to 6000 it's nothing. Also age differs across species, and would make sense if that translated in fantasy as well-dogs afaik are considered old at like 12, but a 12yo human is definitely not old. And 50 year old turtles, the ones that can live for 200 years or so, would be considered young for their species while 50yo humans are generally considered to be in their midlife. Makes sense that a 500 year old god would be akin to a human child, makes more sense that Neuvillette and Yae Miko would be around the same age yet age differently due to species. ...also also I think nahida is meant to be a child for more than design reasons, like with the sages considering her to be worth less than [REDACTED]. That, and something with wisdom being truly represented by children who start knowing nothing, before growing over time. Unrelated but I love that concept, since age and preconceived notions could influence what you learn or know, I like seeing the god of wisdom represented as a child still learning of the world.
