Stunning - I would have loved to be in your shoes doing it!! Over here in the UK 🇬🇧 my MX5 has had winters tyres on and only seen a small sprinkling of snow this year. All the best!

Does it handle well under rain / snow ? :o

@@7-3-3 the car does great. These particular snow tires did their job in heavy snow. But that’s about their limit. Looking forward to slapping the stock tires back on after the snow is gone. My favorite snow tires on the MX-5 are Blizzaks. They work well on dry pavement as well as wet, in temps below 50°. The tires I have on currently as used in this video are Continental Viking Contact 7’s. They don’t do well on anything other than deep snow.

In recent years, more and more transplants here in Colorado take to using their damn hazards during snow and rain storms. Makes highways look like a Christmas tree or a galaxy traffic jam in Space Balls. We can all see that it’s snowing. When noobs do this, they really are just telling everyone else they suck at driving in bad weather. Thanks for watching!

Are you worried about rust at all? I bought a new 2022 and it’s gonna be my daily in Ontario. I am debating if I need to krown (oil spray) the car.

Krown is a good idea. It works great, Its not that expensive and its quick to apply. I live in Ontario too and in my experience, every car will corrode over time if driven in the winter, no matter how new or how good the factory rust protection is. Your car is brand new so Im guessing you plan to keep it for a little while, so its a good idea to protect it. Even if you sell it in a year or 2, the fact you've had it rust protected will help you retain some of the value. Its like $150 and an hour of your time, its definitely worth it imo

Hey @Keegan Ireland, so how's mx5 doing on Ontario roads in winter ? Did you get stuck any where or scratched the bottom anywhere ?

How would u rate this as a wintercar with wintertires? Is it objectively good or more for enthusiasts? Thnx

Best car I’ve ever driven. With the right snow tires. When it gets too heavy or packed and icy, it’s too dangerous and you’re going to mess up your front lip spoiler. I don’t worry about that happening too often in Colorado. If it does, it will melt in a day.

I’m definitely getting 1

March is not a good month for driving your Miata in Colorado, but maybe I will get out in mine this weekend (but not on E/W470).

Wow! What snow tires do you have? Lol.

Continental Viking Contact 7’s. But screw those and go with Bridgestone Blizzaks! They are way better than these!!!
