I had an SD1 3500 many years ago. Loved that car. Drove it all the way from the midlands to scotland for a wedding. Great cruiser.

Glass sunroofs made all the difference letting more light in the car so safety wise it was easier for other road users to see you giving signals and saying thanks as well as seeing which way your looking

They look quite aerodynamic cars with the right economical engine mpg could be good

Your SD1 looks @£%&ing STUNNING! That Roger design was always absolutely incredible, even all these decades later. I nearly bought an SD1 2600 as my first car back in 1992 but insurance costs were @£%&in mental back then due to all them dickhead 'joyriders' stealing, thrashing and wrecking/burning out people's pride and joy. The quote was I think £1000 3rd party when I was probably earning around £3 per hour working! I had to settle for a 1.6ltr Cavalier hatchback (I told myself that at least they had a kinda similar side profile...if you squinted......a lot.....and wore the wrong script glasses....very roughly......kinda?????) I also used to go through a whole tank of fuel back then just driving about like a plonker, wheel spinning etc. A 2.6ltr woulda killed me with fuel prices haha!

Ah thanks! I like how it looks. Insurance costs were/are crazy. My old 998 Mini City was £1k to insure too, 3rd party only. Car must have been worth about £100! :D
