I'm only 50 seconds in and already have to congratulate you for your fashionable taste! Really, really nice how you colour matched the rubber gloves to/with the interior of your Volvo 'R'! ;-) 😁

Nice of you to take care of Dave's cars while he's getting better. We wish him well for a speedy recovery. I hope you and the P1900 can both make it to Davis 2022!

Thanks for the encouragement. I currently feel it’s a bad inverse relationship where I have to work to fix the car that takes me to work to make more Money to fix the car

I enjoyed the video, David. Thanks for posting this and all the others. Neat to see you in my neighborhood working on that yellow ES again. Or maybe older footage? Keep it up! Also- future Lancia content?

On the 1900 I think that knob you pulled out was for the lights and not the choke. Maybe.

Such a strange little ugly duckling. Who knew it would birth the P1800 within a few years. I still think one of the 10 most beautiful cars of all time.

David, Thank you for all of your videos over the years! It has really helped me with my 1968 122s that has been in the family ever since my grandfather bought it brand new. One question I hope you or anyone can answer RE a 1983 240 series GL I am looking at buying...why do some of these cars have speedometers that read up to only 85mph, while others go up to 120mph. I was trying to correlate this with possible different engines/transmissions in those years, but I have not found anything for simple explanation as to why and/or the difference in general for this...

Did you know the Fulvia cost twice what an E Type cost when it was new? Crazy. And they still sold some. (Not very many.)

Why didn't you use the motive brake bleeder?
@DavidBello
@DavidBello 2 жыл бұрын
My fav assistant showed up. And I felt I didn’t have enough fluid in just one bottle to fill the Motive enough. Then there’s the cleaning of the bottle and hoses afterwards. This was just quick and easy.

@@DavidBello ahah okay! I thought it just didn't work so that's why I asked :D considering on buying the same kind of bleeder myself.

David i have a 2005 volvo s60 r with 123 thousand miles automatic. It does have the usual problems of suspension and some sort of vacuum leak. Its has a p2177 code.... Im in san diego and im trying to get a idea of how much i can sale it for. Any help would be much appreciated
@OnShouldersOfGiants
@OnShouldersOfGiants 2 жыл бұрын
Could be a vacuum leak or a bad fuel injector. Check for pending misfires. Otherwise, check all your boost hoses and TCV vacuum lines.

Check engine lights kill sales in CA. If you want best price, take it to a shop to sort out the problems and then you’ll have the confidence of a good-faith sale. If it’s in clean condition, $5,000?

It's actually pretty tough to mess up the alignment on these cars with how the suspension is designed. Potholes and crashes aside.

On one hand, the maintenance struggles have been overblown by some KZbinrs who have bought pretty beat up examples that needed a lot of work (much like this R car). IMO a lot of people treated P2 Volvos like they were an old 240. They are complicated. They need regular maintenance and don’t respond well to deferred maintenance. If you get a good one with good service records, you’ll not have so many of these problems. On the other hand, stuff just randomly breaks sometimes. P2 life.
