Appreciate the gameplay, really appreciate you pointing out how the fleshbag was the spiral point. Goes to show just how strong that helm is against these heros.

Not only did the spiral start there, but that was turn 2? These games are so short that mistakes compound quickly.

Greetings! I have some thoughts that i want to share: First of all this Katsu draw 1 of his 6 Surging strikes in Deck. Thats a 35% chance, so it was pretty lucky. Iam a Katsu player my own. I think Kayo and Katsu play similar styles. They are both kinda "combo" decks. When Katsu plays surging strike first this means in 90% of the cases that he has no other go again card on his hand. Because every Katsu player would try to get the Katsu trigger and search the missing peace. If you decide to block Katsu, do it it fully. If you deny Katsu his Hero trigger, its going to hurt more often than not. And most Katsu dont have the luck to play back to back surging strikes. Even if they do, can they do it a 3th time in a row? Block the surging strikes out if they come solo. If they drew into the natural comboline, i gues you have to block anyways in order to stay healty enough to play your "combo" lines. At 8:17 you blocked with the flashback (i think its reasonable), but just give another card away! You hit his desc. Gustwave on his hand, if you deny his Hero (and Mask) trigger his turn is over. You dont know how often i pray to god that my enemy let my first attack hit, its the difference between 0 and 30 dmg sometimes. --------------------------------------- Something else about strategy. You both play "combo" decks. This means you want 5 cards to have a HUGE turn. This Katsu blew his Surging strike turn one, he would have played his whole hand. This means that the next turn for Katsu is way more likely to be a low damage turn. (he has 4 handcards again. A combo deck with 4 handcards is not as dangerous as with 5) So in my mind: a combo player always wants the 5th card in arsenal. Thats why i wonder why he let you start? Because if Katsu does not draw a single go again card on his first turn (if he plays 24 natural go again cars, he has 12% to wiff)..... its nearly an instant loss. And as a combo player in a combo matchup i want to start to have my arsenal card first. I think this changes if you play vs aggro. This Katsu turn one represented a aggro deck. Fai would do the same to you (as you surly know, love your content

Furthermore! Katsu want to have cards in his graveyard for early bonds. If he makes you go first, its reasonable to not attack and let him fill his graveyard. This means you have 1-2 turns before bonds can realy hit you. It also reasonable to attack him because he plays plenty of 2 block. Just wanted to mention this :D

These are really great tips! Thank you for your advice :) I always forget that Katsu needs a few turns to really do the thing. I 100% agree that letting the first Surging hit was a mistake and that blocking with Flesh Bag so early was another one.

It may be something very out of the ordinary, but I use your gameplays to know how to play against the hero you are piloting 😅

That's why I make these! In some cases, use them to know what not to do...

The katsu matchup has been a tough one for me

It’s very tough and a lot deeper than other aggro mirrors. I have a lot to learn about it myself.
