Wow! This video is on another level! The music sets the perfect vibe and Pepsi's tail in slow mo is just 😍 there are no words! You really outdid yourself with this one Tarah. The editing does some stellar storytelling as well, it flows so well. I love traveling without a plan either. I like having lists of things I'd like to do, but no itinerary and I know I won't be able to do it all. Planning it out as I go so I don't get overwhelmed in case there are unforseen circumstances that force plans to change. I'd love to see a camper tour! Much love, Sarah

Thank you so much 💖 it means the world to me to read a comment like this and I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video! I do the same when I travel. It's great to have some idea of what you want to see, and then have the option to have the travel be free flowing from there. We'll definitely share a camper tour :)

Fantastic video! The editing, the music, the shots!!! Breathtaking. Reminds me a lot of the Pacific Northwest where I live. Oh, and that drone shot at 12:00. That water! Beautiful.

Thanks so much 😍 it is a lot like the PNW, especially with all the rain and the mountains. Many places reminded me of where I used to live in BC, just a lite colder. Isn't that water gorgeous? I've never seen anything like it, so beautiful

I guess this is September? Good filming, editing, great use of music and drone work. We adore Norway, like you say, feels like home. For the moisture, leave a window or better still a skylight cracked for fresh air, leave the diesel heater on low all night - it will use a tiny amount of fuel and the battery should be fine as it’s already running (startup has highest consumption). Insulation in walls and isolating cold bridges will stop the walls from being wet, plus decent close fitting window insulation is essential. Otherwise, to help clean up condensation, a Karcher WV1 window vac with the short blade is a game changer - no more wet rags and microfibre cloths.
@simplytarah Жыл бұрын
It is! We always visit in the shoulder seasons so that we can have the reststops and trails to ourselves 💖 It really is such a beautiful place! Generally, we don't run the diesel heater at night, though we do run the dehumidifier, and thankfully this means the walls are never wet. We can only generate so much power, so the heater is reserved for day time and also on very cold nights where it snows. I also wish we could insulate the walls, but it would be an absolutely huge job that would require us to gut the camper. I think for the most part we just have to accept that there are limitations to a camper built for summer vacation in the 90's! But the window vac is a great recommendation, thank you so much!

Thank you 💖 traveling Norway in a Landover would be amazing! There were many places we couldn't go because of our car and camper and having an off road vehicle would have made a big difference. Would you say it’s pretty easy to live in a camper in Norway? We’d love to go and I’m wondering if we would need to book camp sites frequently or if the rest stops would mostly be sufficient. I’m curious your thoughts 🤓
@simplytarah2 жыл бұрын
It entirely depends on your setup! We have a full off-grid system with a 5000 wh lifepo4 battery, energy efficient lighting, and power meter to guage usage. We use a diesel heater to use less power, and run our fridge on gas. We also have a 40L water tank along with 45L of extra water storage in smaller jugs that we keep in our vehicle. Until we have solar panels, we have to go to a campsite every week or two, depending on whether we're working or on vacation. If we're on vacation, we can stretch our power usage to almost 3 weeks. Otherwise, there's such a huge network of reststops that you shouldn't need to book anything, as long as you're self sufficient. When we needed to go to a campsite, we just called the day before, or even the same day. But that was also September and October, when there was barely any campers on the road. We've heard that in the summer, the campsites and reststops are completely packed with people. All together I would say it's very easy to live in a camper in Norway. There's so many diverse spots, and if you had a better vehicle than we do, you could easily get to some beautiful and remote locations. I definitely recommend making a mymaps for yourself before hand with different layers for reststops, trailheads, campsites...etc. This helped us so much!
@vanhallaadventures2 жыл бұрын
@@simplytarah this is so helpful! I haven’t heard of mymaps so I’ll check that out. I was thinking of going in August or September. Are there any areas you would say were must-see (I like nature, less people, etc like you)?
@simplytarah2 жыл бұрын
@@vanhallaadventures Happy to hear it :) We really loved the area between Oslo and Bergen, lots of gorgeous mountains that aren't so huge that they're not "hikeable", which we found with a lot of the large coastal mountains. Driving north from Voss was also gorgeous, and specifically Eidfjord and Jostedalsbreen national park. I also really loved Reinheimen, Trollheimen and Dovrefjell. But there's still so much we didn't get to see. We could have easily stayed in the same area, on the coast between Bergen and Trondheim, and spent a year without seeing everything.

Oh my goshhhh this is absolutely my favourite video of yours ever! It felt so calming and captivating to watch. Loved your music choice and those shots you got were magical. I got a glimpse of that peaceful atmosphere :) I love how much you appreciate nature, I would also love a more outdoors focused lifestyle. I’m getting quite sick of the Canadian “city” lifestyle (with Walmart’s and Costco’s) anyway. Thanks for this and I hope you make more like this one!! Loved the voice over style and the little food snippets. Such a good idea to make banana bread like that! I would’ve used that recipe for sure when we were traveling around different countries that don’t typically have ovens in their kitchen. I really missed baking then!! Haha
@simplytarah2 жыл бұрын
Yay I'm so happy to hear this 💖 The music ended up working out perfectly, I'm really happy with it! I'll definitely make more videos like this one, we just really lucked out with the beautiful nature around us I feel you about Canada, I just visited Ontario and felt like that too. I recommend the banana bread too! It's tough to eat well without an oven, but being able to bake on the stovetop helps a bit.
