Daily Math Puzzle #1, Can You Solve It?

This is video #1 of my 'Daily Math Puzzle' series. The questions are intended to be brain teasers or puzzles of varying difficulty for those interested in recreational math and puzzle solving.
In this question, we have the digits one through five that must be arranged in a star pattern. We want to consider all such possible diagrams.
We are interested in finding the probability of selecting a diagram at random so that at least one edge links consecutive numbers.

That was fun, even if a little easy. Maybe selection bias would show here since the kind of people who enjoy math videos are also the kind of people who have at least decent number sense. Keep it up!

yes, some of them will not be super difficult. it will be about finding the right balance! :)

I went with a slightly different approach. I'll try not to go so detailed as to give away the solution. First, since it is a closed loop, I worked with the nodes in a circle, since it is the exact same graph and it makes it easier to see which ones are adjacent. Then, instead of calculating all the possible arrangements, I just found the arrangements that worked and calculated the probability of getting just those numbers in each position to get the overall probability. These kinds of puzzles are fun.
