Good video; I got to see how this bike accelerates when it is already going 70s. Man, that is sweet commute scenery. :)

I consistently average between 60 and 63 miles per gallon as measured by actual miles by the fuel it takes to fill up. The bike reads about 6-8 MPG less than the true consumption.

Every reviewer of the either bike says they're happy with their purchase. One reason I chose go with the CBR500R over the Ninja 300 is that at highway speeds the engine is working at lower RPMs. As I understand it, this equates to lower vibrations. I believe those who have said that the Ninja 300 has more aggressive riding position and is better if you're planning on upgrading to a super-sport at a later time. Either way you'll be pleased with your purchase.

Looks like this was filmed in Alamo st, Vacaville area. Nice vid, definitely a better commute bike than the 300. You don't have to wind the engine like crazy. I have the Ninja 250, and it's working hard whenever I'm on the freeway, but not as bad as the CBR 250.

Yeah, the zooming in and out to achieve the stabilization is terrible. The shaking of the camera might actually be more bearable.

That commute is waaaaaaay too familiar. I used to do that ride from Sacramento to Concord every weekend when I lived in the bay area.

The CBR500R is a fantastic bike. I've added some modifications to mine to adjust it a bit more to my liking. I'll post a video soon showing all the changes.

What have you done for mods? Any changes on sound?

I installed a double bubble windscreen and rearset. I've since changed bikes, but it was a very sweet ride. If I could go back to change the decision I would keep it.
