Isabel, you have such a beautiful opportunity to befriend the animals on your property. They know of your spiritual connection to nature and with time they can become your friends. I once did that, deer would come by for a head scratch, I would bend down an apple tree branch and they would have a snack, or I would lay down with a dozen deer for an afternoon nap.And they would proudly introduce me to their new offspring. This was truly a treat.

I would rather live like this girl being free and Hannah too who I watch that's from Minnesota as well. I enjoy watching how happy and free and independent they are away from society and are just living their lives without feeling stressed by noise or people talking or buying all these new things. They live in their own little home in a quiet location. Money goes fast as soon as we get paid. I travel to Ireland to see my boyfriend but haven't seen him on 3 years (the lockdown didn't help) and my time is different than it is here in the US working and paying bills. I miss that freedom of not working and enjoying life more as time goes so fast. I'm 38 and feel like there is so much I haven't even experienced yet still. I befriended a squirrel last year. I don t live in the woods but woods surround my neighborhood. I spend a lot of time in my yard stacking wood, yard work, my multiple gardens. One day end of last summer she just came scampering into my yard and stayed about 5-6 ft away eating some of the bird seed that had fallen to the ground. I bought some shelled, unsalted peanuts and started throwing them to her. Now she takes them straight from me, follows me all over the yard. I left my storm window open all winter about 4 inches and everyday I d call her. If she comes to the window and I dont notice she ll run up and down the porch railings looking in all the windows. At the porch swing, which is directly under a large window, she ll sit with her nose against the glass until I see her! I would open my indoor window and hand her peanuts. Pears too. Then I d line the sill with peanuts and she would come back and forth all day sitting on that sill eating while I talked to her. I just love her to pieces. Named her Valentine! 💖🐿

Evidently, you don't have moles. They are meat eaters, but have an elaborate underground tunnel system and tend to chew through roots while looking for and eating worms. They're not easy to trap. We had a 10 acre piece in Montana and 4 acres were meadow plus there is a spring fed pond that always has water in it. A river also runs through a corner of the property. There is roughly 6 acres of untouched forested land that is connected to the wilderness...lots of work! It cost us $70,500. I studied and worked as a Land Surveyor and later as an educator while we flipped our properties. I liked my summers off. I broke that 4 acre meadow with a 2 bottom plow I pulled with a 9N Ford tractor. And, then began picking the rocks but graduated to a rock drag pulled with that 9N until I had two huge mounds of rocks. We stayed there 28 years eventually selling in July of 2018. The first house we bought was $7,500. The next one was $27,500. We also bought a couple of rentals. When I was about your age I began to dig out the basement of the 1927 $27,500 house to increase the value. There was a half basement. And a musty crawl space that had about 3 feet or less of clearance between the exposed floor joists and the solid, wet and dank clay I needed to remove. I began by breaking through a retaining wall that was concrete and then red bricks that held in the clay. I slammed away at that retaining wall with a long handled 6 pound sledge hammer. It took about three 10 hour days to break through that 15" thick retaining wall before I could take a pick axe after the clay to break it apart and, then use 5 gallon buckets I'd fill up and hoist out a small window a bucket at a time, but then rigged a series of planks to push up a wheel barrow into the back of my 1951 Dodge 1/2 ton truck. In total I dug out 55 cubic yards of wet compacted clay that became much much more volumness after being picked and broken apart. It was sure nice to eventually have a full basement with all the trimmings...pool table, pingpong table and foosball table. If I hadn't done that work we would not have had the money for the $70,500 property we sold for right at $400,000. We would not have invested in the stock market if I hadn't studied that well enough to pick out decent stocks. If you haven't stuck something into a place like Vanguard I highly recommend you do it and then check back to see how it's doing in about 40 years. And, now? Now, I hope this property here in Costa Rica will be my last flip! We paid cash and it is truly amazing... Did my wife and I go skinny dipping? Darn tootin we did...haha A rhetorical question. Where did I start? Farming in North Dakota....Turning bales over to keep mold from growing on the bottom. I was 7 and they gave me a penny a bale. In my spare time I sold small bottles of India ink to my second grade class mates for 5 cents to 15 cents a bottle for their fountain pens, which was against school policy as they made quite a mess. I made all of them swear they would not tell where they got the ink. Then one day the teacher walked over to my little wooden desk that had a round hole up in the right hand corner. She said, "Teddy, stand up!" I resisted, but she was bigger than me so I did stand up. It was at that moment that my career as a budding chemist came to a screeching halt! She then had me empty all of my pockets that were plum full of candy. She put 2 and 2 together and I then tried to lie, but to no avail. She knew I was very poor so also knew I did not have money to spend on that much candy. A teacher can be a very dangerous person, after all, they do have a captive audience...It was good money while it lasted.. Have I ever been bailed out? Yep! 😁 My mother bailed me out. She said it was her fault for buying me that chemistry set with all those chemicals to mix together. My poor mother...🙃 Bye

When i watched her swimming back in October, I thought 'she must have filmed this ages ago, can't still be swimming NOW'. Haha little did i kno... Plus she's in a t-shirt in the snow, and I'm in 2 sweaters indoors :-). All that enthusiasm for life must be like a little furnace inside her keeping her warm :-)

Spring IS the best!! The first warmer days of sunshine are just pure saturated magic. My 3year old is been walking around bare feet for the last 3days, with a warm jacket and sometimes a hat, but bare feet. I check on her regularly and her feet are always warm from the running around and climbing.

You are the perfect example of how to put in hard work, endurment, and enjoy the natural environment and blessings. I'm sure it's not always rainbows and butterflies all the time for you, but it's pretty clear you have the capability to enjoy all the little things in life, and I hope everyone watching takes that in and applies it to their day to day. Example: getting up, making coffee, getting dressed and walking up that hill in the cold seems like so much for someone, bht if you take pleasure in the journey, in each moment from getting up, going to the hill and seeing the sun rise, its all so worth it and makes life beautiful. You are beautiful!
