Stewart, several times now, you’ve played a Tull song that I did hear before, but had dismissed as “not that great”. But after hearing you play it and talk about what makes it special, I return to it and listen to it again, and end up really liking it. I appreciate that so much!!!

Beautiful rendition, Stewart. I assumed this song was actually created from a creative edit combining pieces from other recordings - the middle instrumental being very similar in melody and instrumentation to the first section of Passion Play, while the beautiful middle section (I agree, a moving, chilling piece of music) gives us a vocal style very similar to Ian's voice on Minstral in the Gallery (think Crash Barrier Waltzer). All in all, a great song. Thanks for breating new life into it.
@DailySporranАй бұрын
Both your parallels are bang on, I think. You are absolutely right that the middle instrumental section has the feel & rhythm of the opening of A Passion Play. The chordal modulations at the end of it make me think it is a David/Dee Palmer composition, but it may be a joint enterprise between Ian and Dee. Someone else commented that the beautiful middle section ("And the blue dawn...") has a Roy Harper feel to it too.

Great job once again Stewart and thanks for sharing. It is a great song and another reason why I wish every album was a double album. I would have worked overtime to pay for it if need be and I'm sure others would have too. Too much great material to be forgotten or postponed and rekindled later.

FINALLY!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! You pretty much said everything I was going to say, but I'll just say that it's probably the one best single track by Jethro Tull. It's a perfect song.

Fabulous rendition of one of my favourite Tull songs. I understand the limits of vinyl, but I can’t help wondering if SFTW could’ve found a spot - but what to leave out? I love this song.

I’m actually not familiar with this song! Amazing how many songs they did that weren’t officially released, even on the remasters/compilations.
