If you have any doubts about the effectiveness of these exercises, let me tell you something. I was made fun of my voice all my life. Too high, too 'nasal'. I started doing Jacob's exercises just few months ago, not even constantly. I'd say on average 2-3 times per week. The warm-up and this. Last weekend I had the opportunity to speak in public. Three different people - not one, not two, but three completely random different people came to me complimenting my voice. It can't be a coincidence. And apart from the others, I feel my voice vibes differently. Jacobs Vocal Academy, thank you so much!

Do not tense up, relax, and really just breathe wide and softly, and you’ll get it! Ps I can sing to an E7 but I don’t know what my range is.

Here’s a tip that you can do if you don’t wanna be too loud, get a pillow and put it over your mouth (not including nose). You still get the training but the volume is lessened so you don’t kill anyone nearby

I'm trying to achieve even 1% of Geoff Castellucci's power. I thoght I was an alto all my life but recently found out my vocal cords are actually more suited to bass singing, I just lack any training. Hearing that man belt out those subharmonic tunes really inspired me, I know I'll never sing like him but I want to get as low as I can and while I save up for in-person vocal lessons I'm doing these warmups. Wish me luck, I wish it to all of you!

Used to be soprano, now I have the timbre of a contralto/tenor, and once or twice a week early in the morning I’m a baritone.
@aratinga774 ай бұрын
That's cool! I always sang tenor until I joined a treble choir, where I sang Alto II. I just joined a SATB choir as a tenor. I would like my voice to go a bit lower although Tenor 1 is not so low. I have been doing the baritone warmup but it goes lower than I can -- drops into vocal fry at B2. I would like my B and C to be more reliable. I am also doing the alto warmup to maintain my upper and mixed registers.

This obviously meant for basses (which I am)... if you feel straining sing it one octave higher... straining to hit the really low notes won’t help in the long run... just looking out for y’all
