You're doing all the right things my friend. Let God fulfill his work in you. He is training you in these disciplines. Remember, above all else, God desires relationship. We are ALL saved by grace. Even when you fall, get up and go back to Him. He is your loving father, always waiting with arms wide open. It only feels hard to go back to him when you forget how loving and gracious he is. Jesus had no problem sitting amongst the sinners, when all the Pharisees would not dare to be seen with them. God IS there even when you feel like you've strayed so far away, he is still only one prayer away. Romans 8:1 "There is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

Fun Story, I once was not being the best I could be and met up with someone I was somewhat interested in, anyway when temptation hit, I took a step back. On his counter he had a daily devotional book, so I open it, and I kid you not, the verse of the day was Song of Solomon 8:4, which reads "Do not arouse or awaken love before it so desires" and the writer went on to speak about sexual immorality. Anyway, heart filled with conviction, I left, and on my long drive back I remembered the verse that It is the goodness of God that brings us to repentance. In that moment, though I was in midst of my sin, God laid out a gentle reminder of who I am in Him, and it was enough to stop me in my tracks. Along that drive, I felt like God had loved me enough to save me from myself in that moment, and I repented. So yeah, God is good, worthy of praise and we ought to all remember that the cultural standards of this day and age don't negate the biblical standards God has for us. Edit: grammar Edit: Thanks for reminding us, especially as young Christians to continue to trust God especially in this area of our lives.

I hope someone who is struggling sees this but what has helped me is just focussing entirely on the Lord, and also developing such a relationship with Him that you turn to Him and pray and talk to Him as soon as you feel the urges. I always think back to Peter walking on water and Jesus says to focus on Him. Don’t lose focus brothers. Focus on Him, don’t pray to overcome temptation first, but seek the kingdom first and all things will be given onto you.

I had some cool insight I wanted to share: in Song of Solomon 2:3 it compares the man to an apple tree. I think we're all familiar with the comparison of woman to white Lillies, meaning she is pure and innocent. but less familiar is the comparison of the man to an apple tree. in the forest a wild apple tree is much shorter among all the tall pine trees. he is humble. his leaves are soft not like needles. he provides sweet fruit like the fruits of the spirit. when you find an apple tree in the woods it is a sign of water as they are usually near a creek. a righteous man is planted near the living waters. 🙂

You had blurred silhouettes of two women in bathing suits that were easy to see. I have a genuinely curious question for all who struggle with lust, the definition of lust is very strong sexual desire. So when you guys say you struggle with lust do you actually have very strong sexual desire’s or do you guys have a not so strong sexual desire. Because according to the definition of lust I have not done that very many many times in my life. I think I may be able to answer your question. For as long as I can remember I've had this issue, and it always includes some sort of depiction or image of violence/anger. there is always something in these fantasies and desires that include rage/violence, like forceful things (Im trying to be accurate without giving room for inappropriateness). and if you look at a lot of tv shows that have lust at the center, there is always anger or jealousy included.

Men are hyper-visual. Almost all of our sexual attraction comes in the form of what we see.. lingerie, bikinis, tight clothing in general or just plain old nudity. Women lust as well, but it seems they don't struggle with pornography or tempting visuals nearly as much. This is the reason porn traps so many men. Porn is the absolute extreme of visual stimulation.

Its good to know that other people struggle with the same thoughts i have. I have came several times to a place of bitterness and hatred when it comes to why God created sexual desires the way He did and Im also of the opinion that the suffering that these desires bring far outweight the "pleassure" or reasoning.. Like im telling you, i have yet to hear anybody to make good, jusifyable sense behind the reason God would create sex the way He did in light of Him knowing the incredible amounts of evil, pain, misery, suffering, heart ache, quiet literally everthing bad, wrong and evil that you can find in pandoras box could have some sort of connection to our sexual design. Its like, I HATE when people say, "sex is a gift from God?", like i dont see that anywhere in the bible... it would be kind of a wild and strange "gift" you know? Something that powerful? Idk 🤷🏾‍♂️ For me to give something like that to man, especially with the knowledge of what it would do them and the destruction and suffering it would bring, it wouldnt be a gift but it would be because I had no other choice. Knowing that man would become incredibly evil and are decieved already into decreasing the population, imagine what man would do if sexual desire wasnt as powerful as God made it? What other way would God bring other human life into this world and how would it work out? When they come into being, who would raise them? And with that new way of coming into being, what would satan convince man to do about it? But with making sex as powerful as it is, knowing that satan will convince man to sin, why not let that be a sin that brings new life into the world in which life He will redeem? If God is willing to use other people's sin to sacrifice His Son to go through what He went to in order for His people to have life.... imagine what other sacrifice He's willing to make for that same reason?

What bugs me however, is when Jesus preached how if you look at someone with loss, then you’ve committed adultery with them in your heart. Think about it this way. You can think someone is attractive, or choose to lust(think of fornicating with them). There is the problem, the choice to lust. Because we all have thoughts which are sinful, but Paul explains this: As followers of Christ, you can take every thought captive through the power of the Holy Spirit in you. Look at that promise one more time. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. - 2 Corinthians 10:5

You talk about lust so much. Are you sure you have actually broken free from it? To be quite frank, I'd much sooner have a lusty neighbour who stopped at lust than one who did not stop at just lust. You are young. Your hormones are raging. Live with lust. Jesus' lust/adultery claim is cruel to so many Christians who tie themselves into knots of anxiety over those words.

@@intraflow What are you afraid of? Wouldn’t you sooner have a neighbour who lusted and did nothing more as opposed to one who lusted then acted upon it? If so, then why on earth treat them as exactly the same? In Old Testament times adulterers were stoned to death. Do you think those who lust should likewise be stoned to death? .
