The noise at the hotel in Costa Rica is a howler monkey, they're not dangerous without lots of provocation, and it's super cool to get a whole troupe of them howling back and forth through the forest. They might wake you earlier than you'd like in the morning, but for the most part they're quiet from a few hours after sunset until around dawn.

FWIW, where I live, skunks and racoons are pretty common and extremely used to humans. They'll walk right up to you, but usually they'll carry on right past you. What's weird is seeing foreigners who I guess don't know what skunks are, and they'll pet the skunks as if they were cats. I keep waiting for one of them to get sprayed in the face for it, but so far I've never seen it happen. But damn do they make an awful smell when they get hit by cars.

Or these animals were constantly being fed by people in this place and they stopped being afraid, this also happens. Bears are often forced to be shot in our area, because many people want to feed a wild animal and they get used to easy food, hanging around, attacking dogs and digging in the trash.

The hotel "mistake" noise was a male howler monkey. They usually start singing around 4:30 or 5 AM and do it for a while. Then they do it at random times all day. They really can be annoying if you're trying to sleep. I learned to live with them and their noise. I lived there for 9 years and heard the howlers many many times. I miss them and that kind of stuff there. To me it's not a mistake to get that hotel, it's a blessing and an adventure and it's part of why Costa Rica is absolutely awesome.

Tell me about it. I work in an outdoor mall, and in the center of that mall is a big plaza with a little playground, a stage, and a giant fountain that the kids can run around and play in. But in the evening they shut it off, and you would not believe how many times I've gotten off work after closing and walked by to see a bunch of toddlers and kids just running around there completely unsupervised, in the dark, while their parents sit somewhere a ways off on their phones. Practically asking for their kid to get snatched or hurt.

all of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. And because of our sin we deserve punishment in hell, but God didn't want us to go to hell, even after we sinned against him he still loves us so much, so he entered the realm of space and time, came down to earth and became human in the form of his son Jesus Christ. He died on the cross for our sins and he rose from the dead 3 days later, he defeated sin, death, the devil, and hell. By putting our faitih in him as lord and savior we will be saved.
