But there are tricks to let a toddler/baby go to bed without spending like an hour with them - you can learn them go to sleep by themselves, age 1 - 2 or something, of course just make sure they know you're not gone anywhere (if they start crying just say hi and comfort then go away again. This is all fine and no detatchment from it if done normally). As for wimpy kid crying, type age 6+, they just have to learn it like I did; have the freedom to do lots of stupid stuff that are not dangerously stupid and get hurt al ot of times and be active and in the end it's not that scary anymore lol; and you know what to avoid and how to fall and all that. This was a long and weird digression but maybe it could be interesting or helpful for someone idk. I kinda purposedly wrote it a bit half arsed too to encourage reading up on this properly if going to have a kid. No kids myself, just an uncle and also handling nephew and other kids
