Fun fact Australia had a problem with shootings so when one gunman shot up a historical attraction in tasmania killing 36, The Australian government acted fast and placed a almost entire ban on automatic rifles, shotguns and concealable weapons with only low power pistols and some rifles being allowed for hunting purposes with incredible difficulty to acquire.

Czech Republic had a problem with crime in the early 90s. It solved it by allowing the people to get guns (previously it was impossible due to the totalitarian communist party rule) and enacted laws supporting the right to defend life and property using deadly force. Recently right to use a gun was elevated to a constitutional human right. Czech Republic is now one of the safest places on the planet, with violent crime rate much lower than in Britain, Germany, or Denmark.
