Naomi Smith I’ll lay out the story for you since it’s super interesting. Let’s say Simon Mark 1 is the original Simon in Canada, he’s the og human one. When his brain is scanned all his memory and lives are stored in a database. Then Simon Mark 1 dies shortly after the brain scan. Fast forward a hundred or so year, and we are now underwater with a dying earth and a AI that has gone rogue and been attempting to preserve humanity by putting people’s memories in robot or organic bodies. This is when Simon comes in. So since the AI(called the WAU) now has simons brain scan, it decides to test by putting his memories on a CPU essentially and stuffs it in a dead body in a diving suit with some stuff called structure gel which can help repair and bring things to life. Now the Simon Mark 2 is the diving one, and his last memories are being brain scanned since that’s when the data stopped if that makes sense. Technically Simon Mark 1 has more memories after the brain scan, but since they only have the memories up to the brain scan that’s where Simon Mark 2 thinks he left off. The AI (WAU) has tricked simons mind into seeing himself as a human body(like how when he looks at his hand, it just looks like his normal hand) shortly after he looks in a mirror and finds that he is a robot/organic hybrid in a diving suit. He realizes that mark 1 Simon died long ago, and that technically it’s not “himself” if you know what I mean. So he deals with it and moves on, fast forward to he now requires a power diving suit to traverse the bottom of the ocean. He finds a suitable and now must find a cpu and battery to transfer, but he doesn’t understand that when you have two computers and transfer, you really don’t transfer, you actually “copy and paste”. So Simon Mark 2 sits in the chair, thinking that you would wake up in the new suit, only to realize all of Simon mark 2 memories are now transferred into Simon mark 3. So now there are two robot simons at the bottom of the ocean. He realizes this when Mark 3(our new Simon we control) wakes up to a mark 2 complaining that something went wrong and the transfer didn’t work. So Simon has the revelation that he must leave the old version of himself to die, think about if you achieved everything in your life, only for someone else to reap the benefits. That’s what simon Mark 2 feels right now as he is now stuck at the bottom of the ocean alone left to die, but Simon Mark 3 has the choice to kill him or leave him left alone for the rest of his life. Fast forward and Simon mark 3 has now uploaded his brain to the ark and thinks that he will be in the ark( we saw this before with mark 2 transferring into 3). The ark is launched and you are still trapped in Simon 3s body, and you realize that the old Simon will always feel like the real Simon, so the ending perspective is that your still in Simon 3s pov and are now left at the bottom of the ocean for eternity trapped in a dome with no one to talk to since Catherine died. So you are doomed to roam with your only company being monsters, or you can kill yourself. For example watch the soma ending for a better reference if you haven’t already

When "his" Simon was killed by a "newer" version of Simon, and the Simon before his Simon, was actually the proper Simon, so in the end it doesn't matter who he got attached too, because Simon died 100 years ago, the Simon on the Ark was a copy of XQC's Simon, therefore him saying that he wanted his Simon to go on the Ark, he was taking the coin toss way too fucking literally. You could say XQC's Simon was the one he saw through the lenses of, but he got to see through the lens of the last Simon aswell, if they didn't do it like that he would of just said "POGCHAMP WE MADE IT BOIS" and not had that reaction.

The game have so deep story. I really like stuff like that and terminator, how we can end in future. But seriously I cried at the end that Simon did all that work without knowing that we will not be in the ARK, I felt really sorry for him, staying out there alone in dark without energy, waiting for the death.
