Crowd funding. People are financing a private prosecution when the establishment should do what is right because it's the right thing to do. The police officer who assaulted the criminal is held to the highest standards, those standards are of a higher standard than the criminals. Hi my father in law was a veteran and was house bound elderly when he was being visited by a delightful young lady who was a drug addict, she continually robbed him and stole his bank card and was stealing money from his bank account having things delivered too her address etc taking money from cash machines at local shops garages etc . The police said there was no proof even though my husband had phoned these places and found these places had video footage ,in the end he complained and they finally collected footage it. Then turned out that she had been doing this to 14 other pentioners making sure to do it to people with dementia .and they were unable to give a witness statement .His bank card was stopped she then collected him from his bungalow and took him to a bank to take money out the bank were suspicious called the police and while waiting for them she ren dropping her crack pipe they went to her address and found his new card in her phone she had payed her car insurance on it dad did a video statement to say he never gave her permission to ever have money from him the police were so pleased they could finally get her but the CPS said there was. Not enough evidence what more did they need !!!!

I used to be a police officer decades ago as well as a CPS lawyer and barrister. The picture you paint would NEVER have happened when I worked in those professions. I was involved in a road rage incident recently and the guy (who drove directly in front and across my car) is getting a slap on the wrist without being prosecuted. I told the officer that this will not impact his driving record and he just shrugged his shoulders. Our country is circling the plughole.

That the police officer hadn't kicked the assistant whilst on the ground believe the perpetrators would be in jail now.That the police officer may have used excessive force dosen't mitigate the crime that happened against the police prior.

Of course it doesn’t mitigate the crime but it will make it more complicated to investigate which is what they said they were doing. I don’t think they ever said no action would be taken. But of course people will just cling onto this one incident and try and use it to push a political agenda.

I assume you are referring to the policeman who kicked the offender in the head after the offender had floored his female colleague with a single punch. Well, these police had guns, they are trained so that they have to fully subdue any perps so the perps cannot take their guns. That's why the offender got thoroughly subdued.
