Bike parks are hands down some of the best places to ride. Living in Bellingham, I'm lucky enough to have Whistler Bike Park as just a 3 hour drive away. With Whistler so close, some people might be surprised to find out that Washington state actually has a bike park of its own - Stevens Pass Bike Park! Join me as I have fun checking out Washington's only bike park and follow around Dylan and Colton who absolutely shred (and manage to crash just enough to keep things interesting! Also, a huge thanks to the good folks at Stevens pass for getting me a lift ticket for the day!

I am 58 years old and the only regret I have for being 58 years old is that I mountain bike but wish I had the technology and places to ride that we have today 30 years ago when I was younger....because man I would’ve done some rippin then! Not that I don’t today but not able to do as much as I would like to do! I know that sounds a bit cliché but it is true. Your videos make me smile! But God you make me wanna be young again!!!! Go ahead and get the downhill bicycle and enjoy it now why you can is my best advice to you, go for it now! Do it soon and put it on KZbin for all of us to enjoy!!!!!

oh you can be young again. In my 50s and just found my youth recently. A high end eMTB! Now I climb like I did when I was 25 XC racer, lol. Every bike park is essentially 'lift access' to me now too. (PS don't mock me, I just found out I have a heart valve defect, getting open heart surgery next year. doc says 'no racing')

Planes and Bikes Yeah I’ve started looking into this and selling my cross country, trail, and Enduro bikes and getting an e-bike. But also thinking about keeping one or the other cross country or trail bike, can’t decide which one. They are all one to 2 years old and worry about the money I would lose. Only thing stopping me from getting a e-bike though is selling the other bicycles, kind of don’t wanna go through the hassle but can’t justify the price of a new E bike without selling something. Don’t think it’s gonna stop though. But yes that is a great suggestion! I hear they are a blast. And it would certainly allow me to do all the things that I want to do and stay out on my bicycle longer and farther than I can now.

@@Geordo1960 just depends where you are. In Canada and Europe and some US states they are welcome. But from what I can tell Washington state region is weirdly hostile to them. Should change in the future, already in the EU they make up over half of bike sales.

Yeah I’ve looked into this in some of my research. I think there’s too much of a knee-jerk response to electric bikes I myself have mixed feelings about them. They are a valid alternative for many people . If I can even out my arthritic disabilities with an electric bike in order to continue cycling I want the freedom to do it. It would be frustrating to have to stop cycling not because of my physical problems but because of some stupid rules. At the very least this topic needs a more study.

I rode every trail here in the beginning of September on my Santa Cruz Chameleon hardtail with 120mm of travel. Your video is amazing. It’s so nice to see these trails ridden at speed (compared to how slowly I rode them).

FYI, "lichen" is pronounced "likin' ". As in, "I'm likin' it!". It's the green stuff that grows on rocks.and bark (not to be confused with moss).

This is not the only bike park in Washington, it's just the only one with lift, there are lots here.

Wish this was there when I was living in Seattle during the 90’s. Used to hit Devils Gulch I n Cashmere weekly. What a spot. Crystal Mountain used to offer bike lift access during the summer. That change?

Swan Creek Park in Tacoma WA best place ive ever been to and mind you im only 13, meaning this park is for all ages. This isnt a trail, its a real park with different lines ranked by difficulty, my favorites are ground control and major tom, 2 downhill trails with loads of berms and jumps

there's a ton. download trailforks and you can get an overview of the runs closest to you would be the stuff off 410 or the black diamond trail system..
